Drinking and Mealtime - a Question

So glad you're feeling great! That's what it's all about!
I drink up to the point that I eat, but wait half an hour afterwards to drink. I did start off stopping drinking half an hour before eating, but found it unwieldy to schedule while still attempting to adequately hydrate. I have (very occasionally) reached for water and sipped without thinking during a meal. This isn't an issue at home as I simply don't have a glass next to me as I eat. But when at a restaurant or someone else's home, it's easier to be momentarily thoughtless.
Just a note here. I notice further down the thread people describe not drinking for a certain bit of time before meals and not just after.
Drinking before meals - right up until you put that first bite of food in your mouth - is just fine. Fluids do not stay in our pouch and so going without drinking for 30 minutes before eating is absolutely not necessary and is completely optional.

When I first started, I did attempt to not drink immediately before a meal, as I had read conflicting info on that practice, and figured it couldn't hurt. But it quickly grew to be so unwieldy, scheduling-else, that I gave it up with relief, and did confirm with my center that there was no reason to avoid fluids before eating. It's also easier for me to drink enough through the course of the day without that restriction.
