Good morning Daisy and menu folks! Daisy, I am glad that you are feeling so much better today. It is truly hard to be in pain and not able to do the things that you would like to.

Yesterday it wasn't raining and I went out twice for short walks around the neighborhood. It was wonderful to be out. I plan to only do one walk today because I am going out to lunch with some friends. I am struggling between feeling good and wanting to be out and needing to rest so I can heal. I'm just not used to being inside and sedentary so much any more.

QOTD: I have always like Winter because it was the only season when I wasn't overheated. Now that I've lost the weight, I am cold all the time and Winter has been hard. I'm not sure how I will feel about summer this year since I'm not carrying around as much weight. I do really like Spring and Fall though since the weather can be more moderate and I love to be outside.

Menu:

Breakfast: ham, oatmeal

Snack: Fuzzy Navel protein shake

Lunch: not sure since I'm not sure where we are going for lunch, but it will be protein forward

Snack: 2 oz turkey breast, apple, almonds

Dinner: pork chop, broccoli slaw, blueberries

Exercise: 1 mile walk in the neighborhood, Boy do I miss swimming!

Sounds like your outside walk was glorious! I am glad you are healing well. I don't know if you posted again about it but I have been meaning to ask if the surgeon ended up being able to remove some of the excess skin? I think you were going to ask about that.....

Unfortunately, or fortunately really, he didn't have to do a long incision as he first thought, only 5 inches instead of 8-10 so he wasn't able to take out any extra skin. And now as my belly swelling recedes, there is even more sagging skin than before. Oh well, I am just glad that the growth is gone!

That makes sense, I am glad that he only had to do a 5 in*****ision-hopefully that makes for quicker healing.

Good Tuesday morning! Have been not posting lately and need to get back at it. I need the accountability. Yesterday I had 80 g protein, 111 g carbs, 1812 calories. 300 cal over! Not a stellar day. But today is another day. Yay! 1 more month to go in pre-op.

QOTD: I think fall for the cool weather after our famously hot (the city I work in has that as it's motto) summers. I love the colors, snuggling around a fire. But I love something about all the seasons. Spring flowers, summer boat rides, winter wonderlands.

Glad you are feeling better and plan on getting a run in with those puppies:)

QOTD: I like all seasons, but I am definitely a summer girl. Grew up on the beach, and love to swim.

Accountability: felt Totally on point yesterday and up three pounds on the scale. I am assuming it's because I ate lunch out. Keeping my water up, and hopefully will readjust down tomorrow.

B: Latte w/fairlife milk, mct oil, miralax- bacon bits, eggbeaters, lite mozzarella, ½ lite English muffin

tried my hand at making cold brew. Bought a container of low acid French roast beans and ground them coarse. Came out really good.

L: Eggroll in a bowl with grilled chicken

D: at business meeting- usually inside of a wrap or just salad, if there is nothing I can eat.

S: Greek yogurt, ???

How is PT going? Is your strength and ROM improving? I just realized yesterday that my shoulder surgery (torn labrum) was 9 years ago. The recovery was so slow and painful so I can related somewhat. Wishing you the best with your continued recovery!

Thanks for asking. Just got what is will be my last 6 week script for PT. This is definitely gone slower with the second shoulder. My ROM and strength are actually pretty good, but I am not pain free, and certainly not back to my pre-surgery strength.
