Good morning Daisy and menu crew! Glad to hear your migraines are gone and your back is feeling better. Ryleys team is playing in the Section Championship tonight, one game at a time. They would need to win 3 more games to win the State Title. They are capable of doing it.

Accountability was great yesterday. I am committed. I have 5 weeks remaining in my program and while my waist has shrunk and I have lost close to 11 pounds, I want to reach the goal I set of 195. I WILL DO IT!

QOTD - I love them all. Each season brings something different. If I had to choose one it would be the fall, I enjoy fall hiking and camping. It is nice to be comfortable around a campfire and to hike and see the fall colors is simply breathtaking.

B- Scrambled eggs

S - oikos triple zero

L - baked chicken and 1/2 cup of jasmine rice

S - 1/2 c of cream of rice and almond butter

D - unsure - will dine out after gym and before ryleys game.

Stay healthy my friends, Mike

We love to camp too! Only in the spring and the fall though. We've tried in the summer here around Georgia and its too hot. Our favorite place to go is in the mountains here. Do you tent or camper camp? We still tent camp but bring air mattresses b/c I am NOT sleeping on the ground. LOL!

Camping is the best! I have a camper that we keep parked at a campground and have since 2002. Last summer we bought a tent and went to a state park and had a water site and we decided we miss doing that, so we bought a Popup in the fall and we will use that off and on this spring and summer- we will use it for hiking weekends so we do not have to travel as far to the mountains. We enjoy all types of camping.

I'm focusing on protein and splitting my meals into mini-meals today. This is what I have planned so far - I still need more protein, so I'll have to add something later on today. Adding meals isn't ever a problem for me (sigh).

Thanks for posting your menu. It looks like you are doing great except that you are right, you should add more protein. This early post surgery, you may need to add a protein shake to round things out. Your stomach won't take more dense protein, which is best, but your body needs the added protein. I love the Syntrax Nectar protein shakes because they come in 17 flavors, have 23g of protein and no carbs. Also how much fluid are you getting. It is hard at first to get all you need but keep working on increasing it. Many of us find that we need more than 100 oz a day to stay hydrated and to keep losing.

Good luck!

Thank you! I definitely get my water in - I generally hit 60 oz by lunchtime and quit counting after that. :)

I notice that you are 1 year out tomorrow! Congratulations on your anniversary!

Thanks! The past year has not been easy. Gastric bypass surgery is certainly not the easy way out like some people say, but the results of the surgery and making radical changes to my life have brought me so much. It makes the difficulties so worth it. I credit lots of walking and exercise, drinking fluids like crazy and dense protein all the way. It's not that carbs don't call my name sometimes, but I feel so much better and it helps to keep on the path.

Congratulations on your surgery.

Getting food in during the beginning phases is hard.

Some thoughts- on your dinner- not sure the weight on .5 medium chicken breast- but maybe reduce sauce to ¼ cup, and shreds of lettuce to a sprinkling on top. 1cup of lettuce is a lot. Not calorie wise, but volume wise. Yes lettuce does squish down, but you are very early post-op, so your pouch is tiny.

Even if you don't eat more chicken at this meal, it will make it easier to add a protein snack later.
