btw - Univ of Chicago campus and adjacent Hyde Park neighborhood are beautiful. The Obama's house is in Hyde Park - you can kind of see it from the street. You might have to take a bus down there, though - I don't think the El goes down there (I'm not as comfortable with the bus system as I am with the El system, but probably just because I haven't used it nearly as much)

I loved spending time at the Art Institute! Also, if you're interested, there are several Frank Lloyd Wright houses there, especially in Oak Park. My boyfriend in college was from Chicago, and we enjoyed driving around finding Wright houses. My BF's grandmother lived in a gorgeous old house in Oak Park. She had a morning room papered in handpainted Chinoiserie yellow silk! I've never forgotten how beautiful it was with the early sun streaming in.

Morning IF! Glad you are enjoying your family time. Last day of my long weekend, but its still a short work week as hubby and I leave for a long anniversary weekend in Chicago on Friday. My my younger son get his braces off this week- I can't wait to see him without them!

Today we'll get the tree up. Maybe I'll look at some work emails, or I'll study with my older son. My run is done, breakfast eaten, and am relaxing at the moment.

QOTD: My plan won't change. I workout 4X a week, 2 runs, 2 gym days of weights and cardio. I have returned to before work workouts during the week, I prefer getting it in early. If there is snow on the ground I have home routines I can do. Nothing will change eating wise either. I'm learning more and more to cook what's needed vs. cooking something because its "tradition". I don't feel guilty for not baking etc. If I want a treat- I'll buy it-- I don't need to prove anything by baking 2 dozen cookies from scratch.

199.5 today (eek!) 2.6 years out

M1: Bowl of steel cut oat with berries.

M2: boiled egg & tuna, cheese stick

M3: Turkey w/ salad

M4: ?? I have a pork Loin in the fridge- don't really want that though. Not sure

Good morning!

I haven't posted since Wednesday and need to get back into it. Full disclosure, I didn't count anything on Thursday and Friday, although I did limit my carbs and ate my low-carb desserts.

Weight is actually down a pound since Thursday, but I still can't break 165 lbs. I was upset thinking that I hadn't lost anything for the past month, but when I looked at my history, I realized I did lose 2.5 pounds. I know the weight loss is slowing, I just need to make sure it doesn't stop until I get where I want to be!

Don't have my menu planned out today but I'm tracking everything.

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and look forward to checking in this coming week!

I'm right there with you! I'm stuck between 168 and 172. And I've been there for about a month. Hoping it breaks soon.

Good morning everyone~ The house is all decorated! We scored the best tree, it's just perfect! I have a few more things to get to finish up though. Today is football, but I'm just not into it. I will be running errands this morning and will watch a movie with my son later. Food prep and getting ready for the week, the usual...

QOTD - Honestly - I've not been working out at all besides walking... I was talking to Rob about this yesterday. He was thinking about joining the gym with me, but all I see is us both not going and paying for 2 memberships, haha. I would rather be more active and do fun active things like hiking, kayaking, paddle boarding, golfing, bike riding... We live in California and can do these things year round, so no weather excuses. We will be making more of an effort to include these activities in our lives. As far as food goes and avoiding temptation - I've found real sweets/desserts not to be a problem at all - weird I know. I've had some run in's with SF hard candy and Halo Top though... Anyway, lately I'm finding I am the one setting myself up by making or having certain foods in the house so I have to be very careful. If it is at someone else's house or at a restaurant I don't seem to have a problem lately as I've become so particular/picky about what I eat. I don't know what is actually in the dish so I choose very simple/plain protein only.

Accountability - great

1 year post op - 164.0, good!

b-coffee w/hc, scrambled eggs

l-turkey lettuce wraps

d-turkey w/gravy, green beans

v/l-on track

Have a wonderful day everyone!!

Hi everyone, happy Sunday!

I have a ton to get done over the next several days, from gathering info for my accountant to preparing and shipping orders. I'm also trying to pick up some freelance work as a writer (or illustrator - I'm not picky), and that effort needs attention.

QOTD: Like Amy, I'm in California, where the winters are mild, so doing things outdoors is easy year round. I haven't done much other than walking, which I enjoy, though as I continue to lose weight, I can see my exercise choices expanding. One thing I really enjoy is dancing - swing, salsa, etc. A class or two might be really fun! I think I'd probably enjoy golfing, too, and there are some drop-read gorgeous courses around here. I don't know how to play, but would like to learn!

First: Tea with cashew milk, cappucino protein drink

B: tilapia made with a soy/ginger marinade

L: roast beef with my favorite mustard (Pommery whole grain, a wonderful, savory French brand)

D: turkey, with a bit of Snowdonia Bouncing Berry cheddar

Have a beautiful Sunday, RnYers! Onward and downward to goal!

Hi everyone,

Sorry that i have not been around for a while. On top of dealing with my brother in law passing away my best friend is missing and it's believed by the police that he committed suicide and jumped off a bridge. He has not been found yet so nothing is definite.

Needless to say things are still crazy and upside down. I will be back to posting ASAP! I miss you all so much!

Take care everyone

So sorry about your brother-in-law, and how perfectly awful about your best friend! I hope that all will resolve in a better way than is feared. Hang in there! We miss you too!
