Hip Pain
As you lose weight, your bone structure doesn't change (if it does, you are losing bone mass because you aren't getting enough calcium and you need to remedy that like yesterday!), but your gait and posture do change and this often leads to hip and back pain. It is also possible that you have some arthritis in your hips or back (it is more common in the back), or that your hips hurt from sleeping on your side now that you no longer have the extra cushioning from the fat.i am 10 years post-op and cannot sleep on my side for any length of time or I wake myself up because it hurts so badly. XRay shows no arthritis in my hip (but confirms worsening arthritis in my back). I also have some minor bone loss in my hips, according to the DEXA scan I had 2 and 4 years ago. Waiting on another one next month.
