Full Liquids Making Me Cramp
I started in full liquids yesterday and it's been awful. My premier protein shakes are making me dizzy and I just soent two hours in bed cramping from my 4 oz. of cream soup. Am I doing something wrong?? I am not lactose intolerant and I am sip, sip, sipping, but ugg. I feel like I ate the whole Thanksgiving dinner myself.
I didn't have any issues with clear liquids. Should I go back?

Lactose intolerance after surgery is very common. Sometimes it is short-lived and other times it is permanent. Mine lasted a few months. Were you able to find clear liquids with a high protein content? There are quite a few brands of whey isolate protein powders that mix with water not milk. Syntax Nectar in fruit flavors are my favorite. Or you can try mixing regular protein powders with almond milk or Lactose Free milk.
I hope you feel better, soon.
Great advice above... also, for me, that early out, there's no way I could have consumed 4 ounces of liquids in any given moment. Take it down to a lower amount and see how you feel.
It's tough at the beginning. It does get better!

I saw my dietician yesterday. She said it is common to become lactose intolerant after surgery. She said to avoid premier protein because it has lactose in it. Try shakes or products that have whey or milk protein isolate in them. They are all lactose free. Try switching to Muscle Milk and see if that helps.
