What's on your Friday menu RNYers?
Good morning! Menu for me is more or less the same. Heavy on the protein, light on the carbs. Rinse, repeat.
QOTD: My family is what I've always though of as big. Mom has two sisters, and there are a bunch of cousins and 2nd cousins on her side. Dad is the youngest of 6. He's one of 2 left now, but when I was growing up, it was mayhem when we all got together at a reunion. Same for my mom's side of the family. It got a little crazy with the games and antics (my cousins, siblings and I had NOTHING to do with it of course, it was always my 95 yr old great grandma's fault). Water balloons frequented our picnics, as did pie baking competitions. The pie could be any flavour, which meant that "the cousins" would collaborate and make this God awful concoction (hotdogs could be an ingredient, for example). Gram would still eat it and smile because she loved all of "her kids" so much.
This morning I got up and it was raining, and supposed to rain for a few hours. I got ready, did the usual chores, and because I was riding my bike, decided to gear up with my rain boots, and an old rain suit from when I was a truck driver, which was many moons ago. It fits me like a tent. I wore it anyway and just tucked stuff in behind my backpack, which is waterproof (contains my work clothes, lunch, spare shoes, bike tools, a few protein bars, a water bottle, my wallet/keys/phone, etc.) I call it my zombie apocalypse bag.
Anyway, I got outside and hopped on my noble steed, turned two corners and it stopped raining within 1 minute of me riding. Figures. It kept me warm in the head-wind, and it was a minor irritant but I still had a rockin' ride.
Have a good Friday!
Good Morning! Busy morning so far so just a fly by post for now and I hope to have time to come back later and read through :)

Good morning menu peeps! QOTD my family is very small just my one younger sister and I and we rarely speak since my mom died. Both my parents have been dead for almost 10 years. They both were fairly young and their diabetes killed them. The good that came from their loss was that it motivated me to have mt surgery and become healthy so I can be around a long time for my sons. One of the best things that happened on our shooting trip was that I got to see a young lady I talked with last year about weight loss surgery. Her gp had suggested it to her but she was very fearful and reluctant. As soon as I stepped in her booth this year she remembered me ,hurried over and told me thank you. When I looked puzzled, she reminded me of our conversation and told me she'd lost 75 pounds since she had her gastric bypass not quite 6 months ago. She looks great and says she feels like a new person. We got on the topic last year because I was looking at her western clothes and she commented about me being tiny. Like I always do,I told her I wasnt always and about my surgery. She said she was not sure if she would ever have had the nerve to have the surgery if not for our talk last year. Things like this make me very glad that I am open and up front about my surgery. If I can encourage just a few people it is worth any negative comments I get. Lily and I have our 3.6 miles in and will do another mile after supper. Post op 5 years 1 month and weight at 118.4 today. Heres the food for today B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter added L 31/2 oz deli turkey and cheese 1/2 c mixed veggies D 31/2 oz strip steak 1/2 c green beans S P3 pak. Picture is my outfit today. I dont usually wear black because I wore it all the time when heavy but this is a swingy young looking top so I do like it. Hope you all have a great day and enjoy your weekend!
That's so amazing Karen!! Good for you for being an ambassador for WLS! My co-worker is getting close to having his surgery, and he's nervous but I think it's helpful for him that he knows me and has seen how it's working for me. I've been encouraging him to follow this site too. I'm excited for what the future has in store for him.

RNY Jan 12, 2017 Lost 137 lbs but regained 60.

Losing the regain! I got this!
I love that sweater, Karen!!!
I have a co worker that recently had surgery... I didn't have anything to do with it, but we share the same surgeon now, and she's come to me with a ton of questions. I directed her here, but I'm not sure if she reads the board or not! I'm pretty open about my surgery, especially for those that knew me prior to. I hope I can help someone that's on the fence get the help they need... but I also try to remind people that it's NOT the easy way out and there's a lot of hard work with the brain that goes into it.

Wonderful that you helped that young woman make her decision! I think that being open about our surgery does open up those conversations and allows us to mentor others. I always suggest they do some reading on OH as well to get a better idea.

Happy Friday Everyone,
QOTD: I came from a big family with 5 brothers and one sister. I'm the baby. I've always loved the holidays with all our relatives, food and fun. I made it through last holiday season very well and I realize this season will be more challenging but I'm up for it.
Accountability: I did well yesterday eating as planned. I think one of my biggest issues is that my doctors, family, friends and even students are telling me that they hope I'm done loosing. My husband is the only one that seems to get that I'm trying to have regain room. When you hear that from everyone it kind of gives you a false sense that you can eat whatever and whenever you want and I need to realize that is where this is all coming from... at least that's what I'm thinking.
B: decaf, sf torani, primer protein, protein hot chocolate
L: sliced turkey and swiss rolls
D: chicken tenders with romaine and light dressing
S: sirloin, babybel, half and half with iced decaf and splenda

I'm 35 pounds from goal and I'm getting told I need to stop losing and it's messing with me... For a minute it makes me think I don't need to lose anymore, but then I see myself in a picture or in the mirror and I'm back to reality.
