So my new kick....Protein pudding!!
on 9/25/17 11:27 am
Hi,
I have been buying the sugar free pudding from Jello brand. (cheesecake, lemon, chocolate, vanilla ) Don't buy the butterscotch! It is nasty!! Now that I know I can tolerate the lactose free, low fat high protein Fairlife milk , I have been making my protein pudding. Last night I made cheesecake flavor with PB powder and it was soooooo good!
These are totals based on 4 servings:
2 Cups of Fairlife FF milk 160 calories 26 grams protein
Jello brand cheesecake flavor 100 calories for a box which is 4 servings
1/2 scoop of unflavored whey protein isolate 50 calories 12 grams protein
2 TB of PB powder 50 calories and 5 grams protein
Total calories : 360/4 = 80 calories per serving for 1/2 cup and 11.5 grams protein per serving.
I add fat free whipped topping 2 TB for a grand total of 85 calories and nearly 12 grams protein.
That is my new favorite desert and I don't feel guilty.......:)

Do you use sugar free or regular pudding mix? I checked and both say they are 100 calories...which seems weird. Just curious. Thanks!

Hmm, I use sugar free fat free Jello brand from the box. It says 25 calories per serving and 100 for the whole box. Not sure what you are seeing....

The sugar free and the regular both were 100 calories per box when I looked them up so I wasn't sure which you used. Seemed weird to me that they had the same calorie count... I would have thought the regular would be more calories. Thank you for the clarification. Totally going to try this!

I recently started mixing a spoonful of the sugar free pudding mix into my cottage cheese.. It's an easy way for me to have just a little and I find it delicious! I use 1/2 a cup of cottage cheese, one scoop of plain whey protein powder, and a tsp of the pudding mix. Depending on the liquid in the cottage cheese you might need to add a TBSP or two of Fairlife FF to the mix.

The first few months after surgery, I had a lot of this. I just made the sugar free, fat free pudding mix with 2 percent milk, and added a scoop of protein powder. It was pretty good.
Beware, though. It doesn't keep long. I tried a few times to make a bigger batch, and after about a day it started separating into weird, icky components.
