What's on your Wednesday menu RNYers?
Mornin' All!
Just a drive-by for now because I have to be on the desk in a few minutes. Busy day today, but next week looks atrocious - I'm teaching five classes then (??) - how did that happen???
QOTD: my very first job (other than babysitting) was washing dishes for two summers in a college cafeteria. That was when I was 14-15. Awful job. My first more-or-less long-term job was working at a grocery store for about 1.5 years when I was in high school.
2 years 3 months out:
B: homemade Greek yogurt, fresh raspberries and 1/4 mango
S: coffee with half & half, SF pumpkin protein/Miralax latte shake
L: either cottage cheese or chili (the former if my calories are looking too high)
D: chicken/pecan/peach salad
probably another yogurt or SF protein pudding pop this evening. Or a grilled peach with cinnamon & a dollop of vanilla yogurt
ex: yoga
Hi Menu Peeps!
Teena, congratulations to your son... hope he likes that job! Around where I live it takes an adult to deliver papers because all of the homes are so far apart...
QOTD: My first job after babysitting (.50/hour way back then! OMG, my daughter gets 10.00/hour now for 2 kids! LOL) was having a paper route... that didn't go so well, because back then, this 13yo had to actually go and collect the money from the customers... and some gave cash... and my poor mother was constantly having to subsidize because when I'd get cash somehow it would just disappear from that little envelope After that I got a job at a kolache shop down the street from our house... I was 14, and the guy that owned it was a personal trainer for several of the Houston Oiler football players... they would frequently come into the shop... Earl Campbell knew me by name, and Kenny Kennard would leave his kid in a playpen in the back while he ran up and down the bayou next to the shop... I thought I was a big deal because I knew those guys
Accountability: I did great yesterday!

Good morning menu family!
Accountability: I skipped going out with my friends, so no tacos, no chips, no margarita... unfortunately there was a bowl of Lucky Charms. Still within my planned macros.
QOTD: I helped my dad roof houses the summer I turned ten. I was paid minimum wage (maybe $3/hour?) and while I couldn't carry a pack of shingles up the ladder I was pretty good at the rest of the work. I was also babysitting at ten - who would allow let alone PAY a ten year old to watch their children!?! One of my regular gigs was for a newborn!
5 mo post RNY/ 153 lbs/ Weight loss stage
B- 1/2 a can Banana Cream Pure Protein with half a banana cut up and 2 TBSP chia seeds (mixed last night and left in the fridge) -it wasn't very attractive, but it was pretty tasty.
MS- Hard boiled pastured chicken egg
L- last of my left over beef and scallions stir-fry
AS- Another hard boiled egg
D- Going for the shrimp ****tail - 3 oz of shrimp and a tsp ****tail sauce. I keep a bag of frozen cooked shrimp in the freezer so this is an easy go-to on busy nights!
ES- Pure Protein Frosty chocolate 11oz can (post work out)
Total Calories: 938, Protein: 124, Carbs: 43, Sugar: 11, Fat: 36
Exercise: I commuted to work via bike again today, taking the shorter/faster city street route which is slowly becoming less terrifying. It takes just as long to drive as to ride this route so unless there's a weather problem I have no excuse to not do this. Tonight is a weight lifting night, and I'm also planning an hour walk or run (depending on energy) with the dog.

I work at summer camp where we re-roof houses. Holy cow it's hard work! I'm 22 and could barely do it! How on earth did you do it while you were 10?? Color me impressed. OSHA must not have known about it ;)
Funny story, I've worked there for three summer and love it. But my first summer I really had no idea what I was getting into. During training week they take us up onto a roof.
Turns out I'm afraid of heights, lol. Took them 45 minutes of coaxing and two muscular guys holding my hands to finally get me off the roof onto the ladder. I got better, but man, that moment where you're transitioning from roof to ladder never ceases to terrify me.
I STILL have to overcome a lot of fear each time I first get onto a roof, getting back to that damn ladder!
I was really good at "chalking" a line onto the roof, then lining up the shingles and nailing them in. I was also good at rolling out the tar paper if we where starting from the base as opposed to putting shingles over an older roof. I was recently helping a friend tarp a bad roof, and I was tossing him up a box of nails. I was like "OH DAMN I"M SO SORRY" when he had to reach out for the box - he was totally confused. I realized that not everyone knows that the ONLY good toss to someone on a roof, is a toss that delivers the item, softly, right into their lap. Dad taught me well!
I also helped dad paint houses during the summers, at this little town on Lake Erie (Lakeside). Some of the cottages are built right up against each other so it requires a little kid to squeeze into that narrow space and paint. Really the painting was fine, it was the chipping paint that was miserable!!!! And trying to get a ladder into the space and still get up on it! I would "walk" up the siding using the other house as a back rest and wor****il my legs started shaking.
Needless to say, OSHA wasn't involved LOL!!!!

Hello Everyone,
QOTD: My first job was at a hospital as a dietary aid. Basically I put food on trays and delivered them to patients. I liked it a lot at the time.
Acountability: I did fine yesterday. I switched out some of the shrimp for cheese but that was it. I have a very hard time stopping myself from eating once I get started. My pouch doesn't always feel full when I've finished my measured amount. Right now I'm popping gum when my chewer reflex doesn't want to stop eating. Anyone have any other suggestions?

Gum and coffee are my go-tos to stop eating. If I have to have something, cottage cheese fills me up with not too many calories (which is why it is on my menu a lot).

Howdy,
My first job was working at a battered woman's shelter taking care of children. The cool part about this job is that I could not tell anyone where I worked but my mother had an emergency number. That was before cell phones. :) It was a cool job but depressing.....lots of scared women and children.
