What's on your Menu today (Thursday) RNYers?
Good Morning and it's Friday-eve! My Friday at work since we have lil Sas's surgery tomorrow.
Accountability: I had protein cake bites, tried the new chocolate donut ones, they weren't much different than the other varieties in my opinion.
QOTD: I really need to.....slow down a bit, especially in the evenings when I get home. Now that Em is back in school there is additional things to get done in the evening but I need to remember to allow time for some relaxation and to chat about our day.

so our big news is - my husband got the job!! Halleleujah! He is over the moon! It'll be so great having two full-time, professional incomes again (that is - until I decide to retire. I'm going to take it semester by semester - but unless I'm fried, I should probably keep going for a couple more years if possible...we'll see (I started to say "a few more years", but I'd be surprised if I can make it more than two. I'm really starting to burn out..)
Went a bit over on my calories yesterday (dinner time/early evening - always hard), but only by about 100 calories, so it could have been worse. Still, I'll be more careful today. Maybe try to fit in some more protein mid- or late afternoon to head that off)
QOTD: get to bed earlier and EXERCISE! I was doing so well with the latter for awhile - not sure what the problem is. I did go to yoga last night. Not enough energy for Aqua Zumba, but I did say yesterday morning I was going to go to one or the other, so at least I did that much!!
2 years 2 months out (maintenance)
B: homemade Greek yogurt, fresh blueberries
S: coffee with half & half, SF chai tea latte protein shake
L: 1 C tuna/chickpea salad, tomato slices, peach
S: some kind of protein - maybe another yogurt or some beef jerky
D: turkey breast slices and salad
ex: upper body weights & recumbent cross-trainer
Congrats to Hubby!

Good morning! Today is my second weigh-in/evaluation (out of 6) with my PCP at 4:00, and we're also having our monthly potluck at work. Doh! It's also close to shark week, so I'm retaining water and a bit constipated. Weigh-in will be interesting. I don't meet with the surgeon until the 31st, so I don't know if he wants me to lose a specific amount yet, but my personal goal is to be under 300 for surgery.
Since it was my birthday this month, I got to choose the theme of the potluck, and I chose MEATFEST which was a very popular idea. There are baked chicken legs, hot wings, pulled pork, brisket, lil smokies, someone brought a pile of bacon...no shortage of protein forward options, and not nearly the carbfest last month's was, though I'll remember to account for sauces. I even brought my own sugar-free BBQ sauce! So the struggle today will be with portion control.
breakfast: 1/2 C of cottage cheese and coffee with heavy cream
lunch and likely dinner: MEATFEST
I may have a yogurt in the evening, but I'm on my own and I feel like I likely won't want to cook, especially after having a heavy lunch.
EDIT TO INCLUDE QOTD
I really need to go to bed earlier (also a night owl at heart but work an 8-5 job). I really need to go to the gym more regularly. I really need to write more, especially a bestseller so I can retire my husband too, so we can buy an acreage and open a cat sanctuary and be a eccentric (healthy!) cat couple.
