Help!

HI,
As others have pointed out, it could be reflux. I am on a proton pump inhibitor post surgery and pre surgery. It is actually one of the biggest reasons I had surgery because I had the sleeve and had chronic GERD. So far my GERD has lessened, but not fully resolved. My surgeon has me on a PPI for three months.
Believe me you will have a low grade burning that feels like hunger. It is one of the reasons I started to overeat and gain some of my weight I had lost with the sleeve.
Also I am on the longest plateau (almost three weeks and one pound lost) You have to look at the averages otherwise you can go crazy!

Hi folks. My husband and myself had surgery 2 weeks ago today. Everything seems to be going fine but my husband says that he constantly feels hungry. And he is getting quite hangry. I told him that maybe it is head hungry, or that he is actually thirsty or maybe he is waiting to long in between meals. Do you have any other ideas or reasons? Anything to do to combat this? He is freaking out and is having serious buyers remorse. To top it off he keeps getting on the scale and seeing no results. I told him to just follow the rules and it will come off. Meanwhile I'm getting rid of the scale. Any advice or words of encouragement for him? He i****ting a rough patch here.
what is he eating? Carbs, potatoes, cream of wheat , applesauce, etc will make him hungry. Even if on his approved list I would encourage him to stay away from rose carb items.
Encourage him to drink drink drink when he feels hungry. It will be better when he gets into dense protein.
He is staying away from carbs. He is eating tuna, chicken (canned), eggs, cottage cheese etc...

When did he start that diet? That is almost too early at 2 weeks. I am 1 week out and struggling to eat enough. BUT, and am following the rules from my doc and staying with pure liquid diet for the next 10 days.
As for the plateau, this is super common, and you both will hit one now and then, even early on, as you body adjusts to the new diets.

PS I am on a revision of an RNY in 2004.

What Hollykim said is true as well... even though carbs are on the approved list of many programs...they can increase hunger. Protein is where it is at. Check out "The World according to eggface" for recipes for each stage... the ricotta bake is really good.
