Awwww that bums me out that you haven't had time for a vacation! You should plan one stat, so you have something to look forward to. That's what I do! It lifts my spirits just knowing something is in the future.

I'm sorry to hear you're still not feeling good after your birthday meal. It's a blessing and a curse, no? Back in my heyday I could have probably eaten the entire pile of fries and toppings, and had a snack or dessert an hour later. So I pretty much thank god for my RNY on a daily basis, because apparently it's the only thing that (usually) keeps me in check!

Have a great and relaxing weekend :)

Morning and happy Friday! I'm a bit late getting in here, busy morning at work! We decided against the balloon festival, since we're forecasted for storms Saturday anyway. In-laws are coming into town to take us to lunch for a belated birthday get together. Eating out with them stresses me out and I'm not even the one who's had surgery yet. I get to choose the place, and I think I'm going to choose Texas Roadhouse (DH and I can share a steak, his pouch prefers it over chicken), with a side salad and seasonal veggies (usually broccoli). Almost anywhere I would choose has a bread basket, and weve been just telling our waiter not to bring it out, but his parents will want it.

qotD: I don't care much for chocolate generally, but those white chocolate Lindt truffles....they're drops of heaven. We live within 10 miles of a Lindt truffle store.

Breakfast: 1/2 C cottage cheese, 1/4 C blueberries

lunch: 1/2 chicken breast (about 3 oz), with about 1/2 C of a sautéed concoction of things I foraged from my garden (yellow squash, kale, my last sweet onion)

dinner: same as lunch.

havent wanted a snack lately, but I might be up late finishing up a wedding photography session I did in July, and sitting in front of the computer or TV generally urges me to munch. I might steam some endemame if I feel snacky.

Photo Friday! Derp, forgot because I wrote y'all a novel. This is my garden at the beginning of the summer. I haven't taken any of the garden recently because it just looks like a big tangle of vines. First pic is the main garden, I have zuchinni, yellow squash, butternut squash, eggplant, tomatoes, and cucumbers climbing the trellis arch. Onions were planted under the trellis (I harvested the onions and planted carrots there for fall).

the bed beside the house is for kale and broccoli, and I'm readying a fall crop of seedlings, since these broccolis have been harvested.

also beside the house I have an herb garden for basil, cilantro, dill, chives, oregano, and catnip.

behind the shed are peppers in 5 gallon buckets.

Thank you! It keeps me active and off the couch and away from the TV, lol. I spend about an hour every evening when I get home walking around the yard with my cat, poking around and checking for new goodies to harvest, weeds to pull, etc

Hello Everyone!

my daughter will be home for the weekend so I'm never sure what that will entail but it will be enjoyed for sure.

Accountability: I did very well yesterday and I'm finding I literally need to talk myself down off the food cliff several times a day. For you vets out there, will this always remain with me or do you learn other strategies? I'm in this regardless but it's good to have a heads up I think.

QOTD: I love all kinds of chocolate. My grandfather owned a candy company and I was spoiled with chocolate constantly as a kid so it's not only delicious, it holds a lot of past cozy family home memories. My favorite is milk chocolate followed by dark and then white. My favorite Lindt truffle has always been the milk chocolate truffle covered in white chocolate. I live the small Reese's cups too. Oh God here goes my head again......

B: decaf with pp and sf Torani

L:meat lovers omelette with ham, bacon, sausage and cheese oh my
