I was so sorry to read about your kitty this morning on FB. I'm glad his prognosis is good, though. Poor little guy!!

Thank you! He's a tough little guy so hopefully his recovery is quick.

Happy belated surgiversary! Poor Sasquatch! I hope this surgery will get him in a healthy place.

BTW, I need to try edamame- I don't think I've ever had it.

QOTD: those white chocolate Lindt balls are my absolute favorite, too!! Otherwise, I like all chocolate - I guess I like milk chocolate the best, but I love it all. I also almost never have it anymore, though (other than chocolate protein shakes) - I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to stop!!

I turned down a dinner invitation tonight and another tomorrow night - too much eating out this week. Last night I did OK at the Mexican place other than I had a few tortilla chips. Otherwise ate my planned-on two tacos. Calories were above my range, but not by too much. Whew. No plans tonight. Tomorrow DH is off, so I'm hoping maybe we can take a day trip (although knowing him, he'll want to work in the yard). Sunday I'm going to a movie with a friend. She's also talking about doing lunch beforehand, but we'll see how it goes eating-wise the rest of the weekend. We have a birthday party at a Chinese restaurant on Sunday night. So more eating. Ugh. Constant struggle. Why do so many people's social plans revolve around food???

2 years 2 months out

B: homemade Greek yogurt, fresh blueberries

S: coffee with half & half, mango protein/Miralax shake

L: tuna/chickpea salad, peach

D: two tacos

macros so far: kcal 1111, protein 92, carbs 112

I'll probably have another yogurt or SF pudding protein pop later on (I allow myself up to 1700 calories, so I should be fine)

here are two pictures from my summer. The first is of me and a friend on the rooftop garden of her apartment building (I am in the purple shirt - I have a belt on so the shirt is pooching out over it - that's not my stomach!!). My friend is from Turkey and is here doing research for the summer (I met her when she was a doctoral student here several years ago).

Second picture is of me with a second cousin I've never met before but had heard about. We were at a family reunion in the Chicago suburbs about a month ago.

LOL! A running joke among librarians (or at least the ones around here - not sure if it's librarians *everywhere*) is that we can always tell other librarians because we all know the secret librarian handshake.
