5 Days til RNY
Hi All-
Thanks for taking the time to post so many tips, honest experiences, frustrations, vents, and encouragement. I hope y'all know that it really helps those of us facing this major life change that you are so willing to share.
I am having RNY 8/3. Nervous, but excited to be finally getting done--about ten months in the planning and prep (from switching from my company's insurance to my spouse's to get it covered) to the sleep study, stress test and so forth.
I am on a mission, though, and feel confident I'm doing the right thing. The pre-op diet has been much easier than I anticipated--I haven't cheated at all and found that I don't really have cravings. (I do miss savory and crunchy and veggies though.)
I have been reading everything I can and just wanted to say "thank you" for sharing so much

I know what you mean about missing savory. I did the liquid diet in May when my husband had his surgery in a show of solidarity (and didn't see the point in cooking for myself and eating in front of him.) Now I'm facing the liquid diet again in a few months when I have my own surgery! EVERYTHING IS SWEET. But since then, I have discovered Unjury Chicken Soup protein mix, and another brand of soups called BariWise--they have cream soups for the liquid only stage, and they have things like Chicken noodle for when you can have chunks in your soup. Low carb, high protein.
