O honey, you are not an issue, you are a person.

You may be one of those *****main in control over your drinking.

I am in control over mine now, but there was a time when I was not. And it was a scary place. Very scary. And it took me over 2 years to get out of that place. Very very hard work. Worse that losing the weight, worse that losing regain.

I don't wish that on anyone.

I now can drin****asionally, but I seldom do. I be don't want to go "there" ever again. I almost lost myself. I have a great partner and it hurts me seeing that worried look on his face when I get tipsy. I like my wine, but I like my life and my partner more.

I seldom write about me having any alcohol now, because I seldom have it. I also don't want people, specially newly post op to think "she can do it - I can too". Watching my friend drinking 3-4 glasses of wine when we are out, and her thinking that she does not have a problem, worries me. Before rny - she drank coffee or tea.

Like me - she has gut issues and wine helps with food digestion.

You are an adult - you will do as you please. Just be aware that not only your insides has changed but you are getting smaller, so the same amount of alcohol would affect you niw differently than before.

The 35 lbs of my regain I got while I was drinking but not really eating much. Plus alcohol can cause hypoglycemic reaction. So not only your may be tipsy, but your BS may drop and you may not realize that. I had many instances that my sugar got relatively low a few hours after I had a drink. So as I was sobering, my BS was dropping. Really scary stuff.

After I stop drinking - my RH episodes dropped by at least 50%. Plus I was aware of low sugar much sooner. BS 50's versus low 30's.

Good luck and be mindful.
