I welcome any and all feedback, bring it! I am here to succeed and while I am not perfect, I know that I only have so much precious time to do it. Then, the difficult lifelong job of maintaining my loss. I have taken to heart everything I've read and learned from all the mistakes and the successes from everyone and will continue to do so like it's my job. Actually it's my life and I'm a machine! RNY for life, yo'

Happy hump day!
I'm in a good mood, my checkup (and first official monthly evaluation toward surgery) showed me down 7 lbs since my last checkup, and a1c down a full point. Doctor reduced my insulin and removed one of my pills. Yay!
QOTD: I wear socks with athletic and work shoes (if I'm not wearing sandals to work) and that's about it. I love sandal season. At home I generally have no foot coverings whatsoever, and absolutely will not go to bed in socks. I also can not stand putting socks back on after I've taken them off. Even if I've worn them for 5 minutes, if I take them off they are dirty now.
Breakfast: I'm struggling with making healthy choices. I blame being a terrible morning person and I don't give myself enough time in the mornings to prepare something better. Today I grabbed a microwaveable jimmy dean cup thing (good on protein, dot so good with fat and sodium), and a Starbucks doubleshot energy drink. I think this weekend I'm going to prepare things that will be quick to grab and go. Ideas?
lunch: tuna creations (sweet and spicy) and two low sodium dill spears
snack: Greek L&F
dinner: hamburger patty with cheese
That A1c number is way more important than that stinkin scale! AWESOME!!!!!!!!
You sound like me, with the socks. When I strip my sheets, there are always 3-4 pairs of socks, stuck down in the bottom folds, where I have kicked them off

Thanks! I was super excited about the a1c, I was at 7.3, down from 8.3, and goal is to be steadily in the 6s by the time I'm ready for surgery.
Random story: one of my cats steals my socks if I leave them laying anywhere. We found her stash once behind the refrigerator, and whenever I'm low on socks I check there to see if she's been stealing them.
That is awesome, congrats Writergurl! When I was diagnosed with diabetes after being rushed to the hospital 4 months before surgery I had an A1C of 12 or 13 and my blood sugar lever was over 600. By the time I left the hospital after WLS I was down to 5.1 A1C.

Wow, that's awesome!! It's a huge reason I'm going for surgery.
I was diagnosed 3 days before my first wedding in 2011. I was 25 years old, and working as a portrait studio manager. I collapsed mid-photo shoot. The client called 911, and my a1c was 14+ then.
I attribute it partly as a sign that my first husband wasn't going to work out ;) two weeks before that, our church collapsed. Sinkhole. Not joking.
