Good morning DD2 and Gang. I missed posting yesterday because it was a crazy at work and I had my 2 week follow up with my Plastic Surgeon. I'm so glad that I got to see my surgeon yesterday. I'd been struggling. My legs and feet were so swollen it was painful. I had some pretty severe swelling in my abdomen and was worried that I had a seroma. After seeing my surgeon, he told me I had a small hematoma from the surgery. He instructed me to apply warm compresses, and so last night when I showered before bed, I put a warm compress on my abdomen. Then again this morning when I showered and cleaned my incisions, I compressed again. My swelling in my legs and feet is almost completely gone. I still have my drains from surgery, and after the warm compresses the one on the right where the hematoma is has started draining at least twice as much as it was before and I feel SO MUCH BETTER today.

Accountability: Last night my dinner was half a grilled cheese sandwich and a couple of bites of imitation crab meat from the package. I also didn't log my food yesterday at all. I still haven't gotten my appetite back, but I'm sure my carbs were through the roof. But I'm back to it today, even if I'm a little high in the carb department.

DD2QOTD: I just got a speeding ticket in April. I had gotten off of the freeway and was driving on the service drive on the way home from work. Well, apparently the service drive in the area that I was at, has a speed limit of 25mph and I was doing 46mph. I was polite and accepted my ticket, since it was the very first ticket that I have gotten in 18 years. The last time I had gotten a ticket I was 6 or 7 months pregnant with my oldest son who will be 18 in August.

23 months 3 days since surgery

B: Apples & Cinnamon Oatfit oatmeal, Premier Protein clear and coffee with SF Coffeemate

L: Tuna salad

aSnack: Premier Protein Shake

D: 4oz burger, no bun with Reduced Sugar ketchup and Avacado Mayo.

ESnack: Premier Protein Clear

Totals:

Calories 1212 Protein 131 Carbs 45 Fat 52

Calories are a bit high today, but until I am healed up from surgery I'm not going to freak out if I hit 1300 calories a day, as long as I am getting my protein in.

Here's my pic today. This is an after pic from plastics where I'm wearing some spanks. I have actual before and after pics over on the plastic surgery boards, but I don't want to post them over here.

Happy Friday!

QOTD: My last ticket was for speeding through Nebraska on our way home from visiting my BFFs family up near Yellowstone (Wyoming). We were cranky and tired and in too much of a hurry to get home after a week away from civilization.

Accountability: I'm only just starting my 6 month pre-op evaluation but trying to target my problem eating NOW. Yesterday I waited too long between snack/dinner and my blood sugar dropped (diabetic). I "fixed" it with two white chocolate macedemia nut cookies, when there were definitely healthier options in reach (apples).

today:

breakfast: Greek L&F, but seemed to have no appetite for it, only ate half

snack: Oh Snap! Pickled carrots

lunch: leftover chicken and spinach salad from last night. Homemade balsamic viniagrette

snack: string cheese

dinner: not sure. Photographing a wedding this evening and I don't know what's on the menu.

First photo is my fur baby. I have 3,but she's especially my "baby." I adopted her as a 2 week old orphan. Bottle fed her, potty trained her, weaned her...now she follows me everywhere. Second photo is from last weekend Denver ComicCon, I had my photo taken with "Fred and George Weasley."

Good morning all. The weather sure has been weird, or maybe it's me. It's supposed to be hot out but it just doesn't seem warm to me at all. I think I have basically worn long sleeves since surgery! What a difference to go from daily hot flashes and fans on full blast to long sleeves, socks and heaters..... Tomorrow is my dads birthday so we are taking him to lunch. BF accepted a job at a firm in the bay area, he starts Monday and I'm freaking out about how this is going to work. I don't want to move, my family is here and I love my job. He says he is fine with commuting (4 hours each way, not counting traffic))- staying up there during the week when he needs to and telecommuting from home when he doesn't. Not sure how I feel, the closer it gets, the more I don't like it.

Accountability - switched lunch of smoked fish to pork rinds on the road, other than that, I was good.

QOTD - I don't remember ever having had a parking ticket. I've had a couple speeding tickets though!

7 mo post op - 199.4 today - not happy

Happy Fri-yay! Going to spend some time running errands today with Em. She needs a hair trim and that sorta stuff. We might head to a hot dog festival tomorrow- although I don't like hotdogs anymore, the drive would be nice up in the mountains.

Accountability: Added some cherries with dinner.

QOTD- A few years ago we got a notice in the mail that we didn't pay the toll to cross the bridge to get to San Francisco. We had paid, with cash (I think it was $5) so didn't have any way to prove it so we had to pay that and a fine of like 40-lesson learned always get a receipt! Sorry Arun got ticketed-that sucks and is ridiculously exspensive.

Menu: B: latte, eggbeaters, turkey sausage links and 1/2 an orange L: burrito bowl/salad at Cafe Rio (I won't eat chips!)S: latte, yogurt, granola and meat pack D: TBD

E: hour of elliptical

W/V on track

I hope everyone has a great day!

Good Morning Daisy and Menu Family!

Accountability: Yesterday started so well! After work I headed back north to my farm for a weekly dinner. I managed to grab a protein shake to drink on the way [adds 170 cal] then when I got to the house dinner was already underway so rather than the venison tacos I'd planned, we had chicken thighs and rice [adds 150 cal] But dinner was delayed and there were Cheddar Sour-cream chips out! WITH DIP [adds 210 cal] Which resulted in my second highest calorie day of 1105 calories!!!! YIKES!!!! On the upside, I'd budgeted myself 3.5 oz of red wine, and I did stick to that...

QOTD- Aside from a few in college, I've managed to avoid parking tickets, but I get speeding tickets like it's my job :(

Does your doctor allow alcohol in the rapid weight loss phase?

Mine did not because the rapid weight loss is an extra stress on the liver. I was already in renal failure so I wanted to love on my other organs!

Deb I wasn't sure whether I should reply to you or Omnivore. You won.

I'd give up on her. I think it was a waste of a good surgery. She is a lightweigjt, so will likely get to goal in spite of herself. It's what will happen 2 to 3 years down the road. And so true re her liver.

I have seen the good advice other posters have given her but been ignored.

A very foolish person.

There are so many others who will listen to your good advice.

Your liver is so precious. Metabliizing all this beakdow of fat and muscle stresses the body out. Maybe she knows or not but maybe someone else will see.

That first year is such a short and wild ride.
