Good morning Daisy and Menu friends!

Daisy, what a great pic! And I agree, this weight loss seems to make me look thinner in the face than comparable pre-WLS weight levels. Especially around my face/jaw line.

Accountability: Instead of driving home last night and making dinner for our group of friends, I have stayed in town and invited our local friends (who used to attend our weekly dinner when they were in Northeast Ohio). Everyone was super excited to be there and it was great to see them, but I got caught up in "old times" behaviors and had a glass of wine with our meal. I also passed a pint of Halo Top around for a dessert, and I'm assigning half a cup to calories. This took my total calories up to 814, and carbs to 53! Yikes!!! On top of that, between stopping for groceries on my way home from work, the commute time, then having friends over until 11, I didn't make time for my walk so I had only 3891 steps yesterday!

QOTD: I am HORRIBLE with remembering names, even my own. I have answered the phone TWICE with the wrong name "Hello this is Melissa" when yeah, my actual name is "Melinda". WTF?????

3 mo post RNY/171lbs/Weight-Loss stage!

B- 8 shrimp plus 1 tsp ****tail sauce

MS - I didn't end up eating this [Low-fat Cottage Cheese]

L- Also didn't have this [Tuna packet]

Did have a CUP of blueberries that came in my CSA...

AS- PureProtein Frosty Chocolate Shake (after bike ride home)

D- leftover venison taco meat plus 1 tsp cheese

ES- 3 oz shrimp plus 1/2 tsp ****tail sauce

[edited] Total Calories: 628, Protein: 99, Carbs: 29, Sugar: 19, Fat: 17

Exercise:

  • Rode bike to work (7 miles each way, about 90 minutes total because I huff and puff and still ride slowwww)
  • 2 mile "run" (averaging like 17 minute miles)
  • 2 mile walk

I was OK taking yesterday totally off exercise because I've been really struggling this week with recovering from my workouts in any reasonable way. I figured a day off biking AND running AND walking might help. My bike commute in was painful and sweaty (sorry for the image) but not horrible. I'm going to lay off the under-desk elliptical today to try to allow for some recovery time with my legs before the ride home. I'm planning on drinking a can of protein shake when I get home while I recover from the ride, take an hour or so to do some easy house work (mostly reorganizing my closet, getting a goodwill box together and doing a load of laundry) then I'll go for my 2 mile "run" per my 5K training app schedule. After my "run" I'll walk back the two miles, probably very slowly, then eat dinner (left over taco meat with a little cheese). I'm not counting my exercise calories against my intake, but on days when I have a lot of activity, I'm generally OK eating closer to 800 than on days I'm a slug. I have been kinda worrying that my recovery issues are due to nutritional limitations. I'm really trying to keep my Protein higher even if that means my calories are creeping up.

Here is my basic exercise plan:

Sunday - Run and Walk (run per 5K training app- walk to get to a total of 10k steps)

Monday- Bike to work (14 miles round trip) Walk 10K steps Upper body bands workout

Tuesday - Bike to work/ Walk 10K steps

Wednesday- Run and Walk Upper body bands workout

Thursday - Bike to work, Walk 5K steps (Thursdays I drive "home" to NE Ohio which seriously crimps my available time for exercise!)

Friday- Run and Walk Upper body bands workout

Saturday- Hike/Walk 10k steps Stretching/very beginner's yoga

Most of my weight loss goals are fitness oriented, I'm afraid that as I lose my fat weight, I'll also lose the strength that came from hauling all those excess pounds around! While the biking is new to me, I'm biking at about 9.5 mph which is so slow it doesn't even qualify as exercise on MFP! And my "running" is slower than most of you can walk, like 17 minute miles! just pointing out that it might look like a lot of exercise but it's not very HARD exercise. It's like "active minutes" that end up kicking my ass. Clearly my BODY thinks that my slow running and biking should count as cardio ;-)

Almost forgot #PhotoFriday! Here's a shot of my go to snack when I'm home. I've been buying the two pound packs of frozen pre-cooked shrimp, then I take about 6 to 8 oz out each night to thaw in the fridge. It makes a quick carb free snack for breakfast and or an evening/post exercise snack!

Good morning Daisy and fellow menu trackers! Daisy, that picture of you and your husband is so nice...You both look so happy!

I'm totally horrible at remembering names. The moment someone is introduced to me I forget their name.

Good news on the health front....no more right leg brace! My legs are strong enough! I still wear unbelievablely clunky orthopedic shoes but who cares.

Today B 3oz trim and fit yogurt S caramel flavored premier protein drink L No bean chilli S hummus and cheese D no bean chilli.

I have a question... I love hot dogs... Bought some but afraid they'll be too much 2 months after surgery. What if I cut them into little pieces?

Have s nice holiday weekend! Nance

You'll just have to try them. I found that as long as I focused on chewing very well, I could eat pretty much any meat product.

Hot dogs are really high calories/fat for a little protein. Plus they are high in fat (and sodium), which doesn't work well for me personally.

Id pick something else.

You're right! Of course they're too high in fat. Maybe I'll just have a bite of someone's some day. I certainly don't want to dump. Thanks!

I didn't mean to reiterate the fat like that- wasn't paying attention. I care more about the calorie/protein ration than fat.

Good afternoon! I'm late to the party again. :):)

The weather is crappy as Daisy said- Wet and muggy. We are going to a big get together tomorrow and the focus was on being outside but it looks like we're in for a lot of rain so not sure what will be happening now. It definitely is starting to look more like summer in the long range forecast though.

QOTD- I'm pretty good at remembering names. It bugs me when I don't remember someone's name but it does happen.

Accountability- I was on track pretty much yesterday. I ate a hamburger patty for supper though and the calories were a bit higher than I realized. I don't usually eat something without logging it first- lesson learned. I was still okay overall.

Menu:

Breakfast- Fried egg and bacon

Lunch- leftover chicken with marinara sauce

Dinner- To be determined.... again but honestly, a protein shake sounds pretty good.

Some running around tonight to get ready for tomorrow, hopefully some more organizing and unpacking too.

Here's my pic - dressed in my Canada Day 150 shirt.

RNY Jan 12, 2017 Lost 137 lbs but regained 60.

77 lbs lost and counting!

Losing the regain! I got this!
