When did you return to work ?
When did you feel good enough to go back to work. I had the gastric bypass and am a week out. Just learned my short term disability pay was approved until June 29 which is basically 3 weeks after surgery. I also have a desk job but requires me to lift and organized copied documents into boxes to send out, etc. not all day but maybe twice a week. What am worried about not being ready with figuring out eating still learning and by that time should be on soft foods.
Hello.I had three weeks off after my RNY. I was checking in and reviewing emails after a few days though. If I had HAD to come to the office I probably could have done it after a week to week and a half but I was still exhausted at that point and really needed an afternoon nap. Once I could start my vitamins-which was right at the two week mark I felt more energized each day.
I took 10 days off... then I was able to work partial days the next full week (like from 8-3)... BUT I have a very sedentary job, and don't have to lift anything.
You won't be able to lift more than something like 20 pounds for 6 weeks, and you'll want to adhere to that pretty much. You don't want to pull out any stitches inside.

2 weeks off is pretty standard for desk jobs but you should not be lifting anything over even 10lbs for up to 6 weeks.
I popped an an incision when I had my gallbladder out and it's not pretty. Now it looks like I got shot in the gut.

Went back to work 9 days later . I had gastric bypass . I'm a hair dresser . just worked short hours and I work part time .
I had 2 weeks off completely, then I worked from home for 2 weeks. If I had to have done it I could have been working at one week. Regardless, IMO 3 weeks at home should be plenty for most people.
