What's on your Menu today (Thursday) RNYers?
Good Morning and happy Friday-eve! Still trying to plug away at writing reviews this week. I was kind of in a funk some of yesterday so I didn't think it was a good idea to work on them too much since I don't want a bad mood to result in an evaluation that reflects that...make sense? Hope you have so much fun at the celebration event tonight and of course take pics.
Accountability: Last night I added a peanut butter and SF jam sandwich made with one of the low carb pitas-due to prior stated "funk" I think. Totals ended up: Cals: 1414/Protein: 128/Carbs: 105/Fat: 57
Time since surgery: 2 years, 10 months
B: SF latte, eggbeaters with roasted red pepper, ½ an orange and 2 turkey sausage links
L: Albacore tuna lettuce wraps and baby carrots
S: SF latte, homemade Greek yogurt with 3 strawberries and ¼ cup bran cereal, 4 Brazil nuts and Buddig beef pack
D: Egg salad (1 boiled egg mixed with 1/4c low fat cottage cheese) inside ½ a low carb pita pocket, green beans and SF vanilla pudding made with Fairlife
E: 6 miles on the treadmill this morning and 40 mins of elliptical at lunch
V/W: On track
Totals: Cals:1180 Protein:126 Carbs:100 Fat:37
Have a great one!
Forgot some good news. Youngest son who was fired two weeks ago was offered two jobs yesterday. Neither was the perfect job that you would want to do forever but he had 2 two interviews and was offered both jobs. One was as a forestry worker for 12.50 an hour full time hopefully permanent but had lots of driving to job sites in a huge area and no benefits. Job two is right here in town working 30 hours per week for the city as a grounds keeper. It will be there probably through October. He took the local job to save wear and tear on his car. The forestry job was hard hard work and not something he wanted to do forever. He also got notification yesterday that he is still in the running for 3 park ranger positions in various state parks in different areas of the US. That would be his dream job so still praying here for just the right job to fall his way. OH the rain stopped too and Lily and I got our walk in.
the only thing I did differently than planned yesterday was dinner. Instead of a pork chop with coleslaw, I had a corned beef sandwich (2 oz corned beef, mustard, tzakziki sauce, chopped cabbage on a FlatOut FoldIt). It just sounded more appealing at the time. So I stayed within my calorie budget and was down 1.4 lbs this morning (although again, I think yesterday's weight - which of course was my official "weigh day" - was mostly due to sodium and backup...)
The next two days I'll be working remotely off & on. The end of our fiscal year is coming up, and tomorrow is the deadline for buying books. So I'm going to be a book-buying machine the next two days. I tend to lose focus if I sit in one spot too long with only one task to do, so I tend to change environments every couple of hours. I'm glad I work in one of those places where they allow us to do that...
anyway, the plan for the day:
2 years out (maintenance):
B: homemade Greek yogurt, raspberries
S: coffee with half & half, SF mango/strawberry protein shake
L: 1 C cottage cheese, strawberries
D: tuna chickpea salad with lettuce in a FlatOut wrap
probably another Greek yogurt or SF protein pop
Good morning menu friends! Another beautiful steamy Texas day here. Lots to do at work so this is a quickie.
Accountability: Yesterday I ate weirdly. Nothing seemed to turn out the way I had planned. I ended up having a quesadilla with bacon for dinner and then some cottage cheese and tomato for a snack. That all would have been fine but I found a partial bag of pretzels and 'snacked' several handfuls. That led to an issue (I think) and I woke up at 3 am drenched in sweat and shaking. Blood sugar crash. I have never had that wake me up like that before. Felt terrible. Ate a peach and some unsweetened baking chocolate I found in the pantry in my daze. Fell back asleep and woke up this morning feeling ok. Was no fun. MFP says: Calories 1215, Protein 66; Carb 142; Fat 48.
Weight is good at 123 this morning.
Have a great day everyone. Avoid the pretzels...they are demon spawn.

Hello all,
Accountability: Yesterday was pretty good. I only had one small change to my food plan...we meet friends for Mexican food very Wednesday night. I had originally planned for Pollo Asado (grilled chicken) but changed to Grilled Shrimp. Very proud that I did not touch any of their chips and only had my Ideal Protein chips with the tomato salsa. So, my original/changed number are; Cal-790/803, Protein-102/100, Carbs-44/41

Good morning OH! It's heating up here and going to be 85 today and in the 80's for the next 10 days at least. My swim yesterday was amazing, I love swimming in the heat. I don't know how I would have gotten through the last 6 weeks if I wasn't able to swim, it's my therapy. Tomorrow is my 6 month Dr. appt even though is almost 7 months now. Looking forward to finding out how my labs are.
