What's on your Tuesday Menu, RNYers??
just a drive-by for now - I have the morning desk shift....
QOTD: I used to note September 9 because that was the date I quit smoking, but it's been 23 years now, so the last couple of years that date has come and gone without me even noticing!
22 months out
B: homemade Greek yogurt with 10 raspberries
S: coffee with half & half, protein/fiber mango lassi
L: 1/2 chicken salad wrap (Flat Out wrap), orange
D: beef barley soup
probably another Greek yogurt later
We have an annual vacation to Outer Banks, NC every May. We go to a motorcycle trials national or world round pretty much every June (we've been to VT, PA and RI. We'll go to RI again this year and next year will be in TN). We also attend a local fair for the Tractor Pulls (and blooming onions! Guess that has to change!) in August. I also have certain months of the year where I traditionally visit my BFF in MD (I'm in NY). Normally I go in April, May (on the way to/from NC and August). This year I'll probably have to skip April because I went to Savannah, GA to see another friend in March.
Worked out with my trainer last night. It was fun, and HARD. Not so sore this morning but he told me I will be tomorrow. I see him again on Thursday. I was happy when I got on the scale for him last night fully clothed, with shoes at the end of the day and was (barely) under 190. The last time I had weight loss I couldn't get on a doctors scale (or anyone's beside my own and see myself under 200).
Today I'm going out for a celebration lunch with co-workers. It's Taco Tuesday so lunch will reflect that!
11 weeks post op today! 183.8lbs. This is the first time that I've weighed the same thing for 4 days in a row. That all seems to weird to me because "before" I could fluctuate 5+lbs on any given day. Maybe this is an impending stall, but I can't complain because I've made it 11 weeks with loss each week!
B: Premier Protein w/ Decaf Coffee
L: Shredded Chicken, shredded cheese & sour cream (plus hot sauce!)
D: Ribs
S: Dannon L&F Yogurt and Jerky
E: Rest day, back at cardio tomorrow

Quick post today as I have things to do to get ready to head out on our 2 week adventure. We'll be in Tennessee and Kentucky seeing state and national parks and going to a cowboy shoot this weekend. We'll be back either Friday or Saturday. Lily and I have our 3.2 miles in for today but I'm sure we'll walk somewhere this evening. QOTD My mother in law and I always spend Mothers Day together every year. I got a gem there and have a fear better relationship with her than I ever did with my mother. Post op 4 years 7 months and weight at 118 today--yuck. Not enough fluids yesterday so that's today's goal. Did manage to avoid snacks yesterday but it was a rough one. Here's today's food B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter added L 31/2 oz deli turkey and cheese with guacamole D 31/2 oz burger patty and 1/2 c green beans S mission one chocolate brownie protein bar. Have a great day everyone and make some smart and conscious choices that move you one step closer to your goal! See you when I see you.
Good morning! My early morning swim date stood me up today but I still rocked out my workout. I'm proud of myself for getting it done despite not have my friend there to push me. However, as I was finishing up some guy tells me how nice of a stroke I have and how I'm so fast. He was creepy and I couldn't tell if he wa****ting on me or just being nice. I said thank you and continued on. Gave me the heebie jeebies.
Hubbie wants to try the Paleo diet for a while. So I'm going to try a modified Paleo. Protein first with the inclusion of some fruit and veg. I'm going to wean off dairy and see how it goes.
Time since surgery: 2 years 9 months
Pre workout: 1 slice toast with a tbsp of peanut butter, coffee with whole milk
B: Coconut milk latte (trying to limit dairy) and nuts
S: Dried fruit or an apple
L: Salad with hb eggs, chicken, and spinach
S: Coffee and nuts
D: Ham and eggs
E: 1.3 miles in the pool DONE! Either I referee lacrosse tonight or I'll run another 3-4 miles.
W/V: Started
No totals: too much up in the air.
HAVE A GREAT TUESDAY!
on 4/4/17 2:44 pm
Great job with the swim!
I am fascinated with the idea of getting rid of dairy. I love it more than just about anything, but I think it what is keeping me from losing any more :(
I have never even heard of lobster grilled cheese, but it sounds awesome.
Ooooh my gosh you guys. Yesterday we did a super fun kid day. Did I say, we had to cancel a trip we had planned to St. Louis this week because dh is having hernia surgery tomorrow? The kids were disappointed, so we did some stuff to kind of make up for it. We took them to Candy Craze, and then swimming at the rec center, and then to dinner?anyway, I got a few sugar free gummy bears at the candy store. You buy out of these bins, scoop out what you want, so only got like a palm full, and I think I ate like four of them, because I've heard they can cause, erm, gastro upset. Well, that is an understatement.
Those of you that have had trouble finding help for constipation issues may want to carefully, carefully try a dose of these babies. Or, maybe if you have a need for revenge on someone who stole your firstborn?something like that?these would be appropriate.
Edited to add the QOTD- Oh, we have so many traditions. We are Catholic. We love our traditions. And my kids, you do something once and it is set in stone for all the ages. Like, we have fish tacos and black beans on Ash Wednesday. Because, um?I made those for Ash Wednesday several years ago, and now it's a thing. And what's funny is, I'm pretty sure I'm the only one that loves fish tacos. But still, they want them, because "we always have fish tacos on Ash Wednesday". Someday my great-great-grandkids will be like, "Why do we have fish tacos on Ash Wednesday?" And my great-grandchildren will be like, "It is an ancient tradition handed down from our forefathers, children." When really, I just like fish tacos and decided to make them one random year.
Meals for today
B- honestly, I'm having trouble getting the coffee down. My belly is not happy.
L- When I feel up to it, gosh, Idon't know. I am taking my kids to my parents around lunch time, they will keep them overnight so I can drive to the hospital bright and early tomorrow. I have some almonds in the car.
D- We are having a childless dinner out! woohoo! Dh's pick, this is for his birthday, and he says Copelands?I haven't been there since surgery. My favorite dinner there is this chicken breast with mashed sweet potatoes and onion straws. That would still be decent, if I skimmed off most of the sweet potatoes (they are quite sweet and I'm sure have brown sugar or something added). But I may pick something else once I get a look at the menu through my new bariatric eyes.
I know that's not much to eat. I'm going to be on the run most of the day and I'm having trouble imagining eating on this sad stomach. I need to get my caffeine and water in first, and then I'll focus on some more protein. Might be a good day for a shake. In the meantime, I'm going to hide the rest of these gummy bears away in case the antichrist shows up for tea someday?.
