What's on your Tuesday Menu, RNYers?
Good morning. Early meeting means a late post for me. There was no soul crushing at the First Year Oral Arguments last night, although I did have a student not show up. First time in the 10 years Ive been judging that that happened! I have an appt tomorrow to go over the glucose monitoring results and see if my diet needs tweaking. Can't wait to hear what she has to say.
JBQOTD - I guess it would have to be committing to run my first 1/2 marathon. It was truly life changing. It proved that I am stronger than I dared to believe. It's given me the strength to try other things.
My plan . . . sucks . . . I got home late last night, so very little planning went into this menu
B: hard boiled egg, 2 oz ham, .7 oz cheese
L: 2.62 oz bacon cheeseburger patty (the patty has bacon and cheese ground into it), 2 oz beets if need be
D: Tri tip (maybe???)
S: skinny latte, light and fit before the gym, almonds after spin class
GrimBerry is great! Sounds like a great pie... oops... shouldn't be thinking about pie...
QOTD: Deciding to have my lap band of 10 years removed and revise to RNY. Almost 6 months out and am doing really well and very happy with my choice.
B: Decaf coffee & protein hot chocolate
L: 3.2 oz left over sirloin steak, raw red pepper
D: 3 oz Grilled Chicken Tender with Romaine and low fat dressing
S: 3 oz left over pork chop, string cheese

Food afternoon. It's 1pm and Dan just went in for surgery. I'm currently sitting in the hospital cafeteria. I was kinda looking forward to logging on and getting a little bit of work done while his in, but the settings on the hosptial wifi make it difficult to log on through the VPN on my computer, so I'm not able to access any of my files. So, here I am.
Not sure how long Dan's surgery is going to take. The nurse said that sometimes it can take a bit because once the achilles rips, it can roll up like a window shade into the calf and they have to dig around to find it. Made me shudder to think about it. Anyway, he's back there and should be out within the next few hours. Kal is with my mom, and I'll have to run and pick him up (she's over an hour away from this hospital). So once we're done here I'll have to go drop Dan off and then head to get Kal. Busy day. And tomorrow I'll be back to the work in the office. Hopefully hubby should be able to get himself to and from the bathroom and hopefully get himself around more easily. he'll have a hard cast, so it will be safer and we won't have to worry about him bumping his calf through an Ace bandage.
19 months since surgery
B: 3/4 of a package of imitation crab eaten from the package while getting everything packed up this morning, and a Light and Fit Smoothie on the drive to the hosptial.
L: I just ate a chicken and cheese quesadilla from the hospital cafeteria. This place kinda sucks and they didn't have much, so I opted for cheese and chicken. i ate the tortilla too, lol. No sour cream or salsa to be had here, so yeah.
D: No idea. I haven't planned that far ahead. I really need to get my **** together this evening when I get home, instead of relaxing, I really need to clean the house and do the dishes.
S: No idea, depending on how long Dan takes, I may grab a snack. I'm not going to be too tough on myself today, since my schedule is all screwed up.
totals with what I've actually had so far
calories 700 protein 51 carbs 74 fat 28.
I just built a quesadilla with a 10 in tortilla, 2 ounces of cheese (it was really cheesey) and 2 ounces of chicken. That's as close as I'm going to get.
Have a great day all. If I can find a plug for this laptop, I'll probably be poking around for a bit once I get back up to the waiting room.

"Food Afternoon" is just about my favorite typo ever on this site. Lol.
Achilles stuff is awful! I ripped mine just slightly a few years ago and it hurt like a mother... and mine was not a full tear at all. Wishing him all the best for quick and pain-free healing!
Lord have mercy, I didn't even realize that I had typed that until you pointed it out. I WAS chowing down on melted cheese and chicken when I was typing it. My friend Kristy is on her way to the hospital to hang out with me, since she only lives a few miles from here and she has the day off.
I don't even want to imagine the pain. when the nurse was explaining how the achilles rolls up and gets lost in the calf, I couldn't help but visualize and it was horrible. Gotta learn not to visualize stuff, lol.
He's in good spirits, so I'm hoping that he handles the pain well. He's got a script for percocet 10s waiting at the pharmacy, so that should help a bit. lol
Posting late- our internet was down this morning and just now catching up. So I have a work thing in Vegas in April, I have put off buying clothes because I am not at goal yet. But it is only a few weeks away so I went shopping on lunch. I took a co-worker with me that has a great sense of style and I bought 16 interchangeable pieces. I am so excited to get home and try everything on. It would have taken to long on lunch, so I had her pick what I needed and then I can just exchange if I got the wrong size.
QOTD: WLS HANDS DOWN!!!
B: Egg/bacon casserole
L: Sunflower cabbage salad
D: Beef Enchiladas
S: banana

I like GrimBerry, cute and practical.
QOTD: Last life changing decision I made was to have WLS. Before that, it was to stay with my husband and not go through with divorce. We shall see where it goes from here.
3.5 months post-op / 190lbs today / still stuck at 190
B: Low Fat Cottage Cheese
S: Turkey/American roll-ups
L: Rotisserie seasoned chicken, refried beans, sour cream, salsa
S: Oikos Triple Zero Vanilla, frozen fruit
D: Taco meat
S: 1/2 banana, PB2
Totals: Cal 827 / Protein 86
Vitamins: Multi, Calcium, D3, B12, Iron
E: Getting my steps in. That's all we can count on. I'm just a little mad at the scale.
Edited to add totals

I'm sorry you are stalled, it's always frustrating!! I'm surprised you are eating fruit, could that be causing it?

I just recently added the fruit in. Yesterday was the first day that I've had it since surgery. (except for banana, mashed, in the beginning)
I've been stalled since 2/25...so almost a month. I don't think it's the five blueberries, two strawberries, and two pineapple chunks. That's all the fruit I'm talking about. It sounds glorious to put fruit down, but it's not much.
I've only added it to try and kick start myself into losing mode again. Through all of this, I have been on the same eating plan, same track. I called surgeon's office last week to see what he might recommend. He said to try and eat some fruit for a few days, then stop. (I guess because it's natural carbs, natural sugars, complex sugars, maybe?) See how it works. If I'm not under 190 by Monday morning, I'm going back to my bacon and steak eating track. I don't know what else to do, but I keep posting my menu so I won't self-sabotage. It's like my way of staying on track.
