It's cold here again in Illinois. We had a dusting of snow overnight with more expected today. Lily and I got up early and got our 3.2 miles done, even though I would rather have slept in. I guess that's a victory of sorts. QOTD I'm not really a superstitious person. Post op 4 years 6 months and weight at 117.2 today. Here's the food plan B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein and peanut butter added L 31/2 oz Canadian bacon and cheese 1/2 c tomato slices D 1 c ham and beans S mission one chocolate brownie protein bar. Have a great day full of smart conscious choices that move you one step closer to your goal. You deserve it!

Morning pouch pals! I've been on my run and am at bowling with the younger kid. My older boy looks like a chipmunk who's stored all his nuts in his cheeks for the winter. He's hurting most today- which took him by surprise since the first two were so easy. We'll skip his piano lesson. Hubby is in NC for the day. No plans for the rest of the day- I've got a few things in my Macy's wishlist I may go ahead and buy.

Qotd: my mom had so many superstitions. Don't cut a baby's hair before they talk, or they'll stutter. Don't sweep a person's feet with a broom or they'll go to jail. (And if your feet are swept- spit in the offending broom). Don't let a knife lie in its back-- it means someone will die. I will always flip a knife if I see it sitting that way.

194.3 today, 22 months out

m1/2: 2 boiled eggs, Greek yogurt, berries granola, 1/2 nature valley protein bar

m3: 3 turkey meatballs with sauce, ricttoa & mozzarella

m4: mostly likely fish-- trying to stick to soft foods for my son.

Good morning everyone,

22inches of snow?! I feel for you! Last week we got an extra 3-4ft of the terrible white stuff and I am so over it. Thankfully our weather forecast doesn't show snow this coming week.

Day 4 post op:

B: 4oz crystal light + unflavored Unjury protein

S: The other 4oz

L: 4oz Chicken Bone Broth (picked some up yesterday- it has 9g protein per 8oz and has better flavor than the broth I wasnt enjoying the day before woohoo)

S: 4oz chocolate Unjury

D: 4oz chocolate Unjury

Trying to get 4oz of water in between each meal. Just got to keep sip, sip, sipping lol

Also going to try take Griffin (my shepperd mix) out for a walk around the block sometime today.

Happy Saturday folks!

Good morning everyone and Happy Saturday!

Both my mom and sister are off on separate vacations right now so this weekend I'll be home cleaning and doing laundry while living vicariously through their pics and texts. Sister is in BC visiting family and I'm getting tons of pics of the kids which makes me super happy and mom should be arriving in Myrtle Beach within the hour for 3 weeks of golf which will make her super happy too!

Finally went to a Value Village last week and....weelllll...I'm going to another one today. Dangerously fun.

QOTD Although I'm sure there are a few in my everyday life the only superstitions I can think of right now involve playing sports. For baseball I have lucky socks (that admittedly do not get washed on a sufficient schedule) and I very specific order to putting on all the compression everything that held all the parts of me "in place". In my younger days playing hockey we had lots of superstitions about how we dressed, what songs we listened to pregame, who was first on the ice etc...we had a lot!!

Today my menu is undecided but I'm sticking with the protein in the morning coffee. My activity level continues to be lower than it was (8000-12000 steps per day vs 15000+) but everything else is on point and the scale has been very cooperative this week. Every time I step on it I ask it to be kind (I have also been know to say "be kind, rewind") and this week has been my most significant weekly drop yet so....?? Live and learn.

Have a great weekend everyone!

It snowed all day yesterday, but not much accumulation because it has been warmer than suual...but white stuff covering the ground. WHy are we 'spring forward' when it is not spring?

So I went to the spin class...spun myself silly for an hour. Don't know if I would do it again...it was fun catching up with the teacher, she is a WLS peep who is only one year out from surgery but fell in love with spinning, got certified and is now teaching....

OK here is the hard part I said I would NEVER join a gym again... this is a really nice local gym, not a big chain...not pushy. They offered me to come back today for a body fat testing- a machine I've never seen... as well as a free personal training session. Loved the kid trainer (yes kid- 23 years old) but he actually knew what the hell he was talking about...and I always have loved weight training, it is the cardio I don't like :(.... So he is not available so he is giving me a second free session with another trainer on Monday. can you say good sales tactics? They have 2 plans - the basic join the gym, do it on your own plan... or if you sign up for one personal training session a week, you get use of the whole gym everyday- and that is only a minimum 3 month commitment....Which I like- I hate yearly commitments. Ugh...what to do..what to do...

At the high end of 'zone' 168 today.... ugh, still fluctuating too much, I can go up or drop 3lbs in a day for no apparent reason. I think Monday I was 163. What???

B: premier protein-out to gym

B2: Coffee latte w/fairlife and miralax. Low carb mug muffin with greek yogurt topping (26g protein total) Muffin - 115calories and 1/2c greek yogurt)

L; Pork carnitas and veggie stew

D: Stea****ep getting lazy, need the steak for my iron and protein numbers. Lack of beef is my theory as to why my protein numbers are down..LOL...

S: Chocolate chai latte, cottage cheese and cucumbers

I'm back out at the nursing home. My dad was awake for about a half hour right around lunch time, but he's zonked out again. The nurse said he was up most of the night. Crap. It's so hard when he gets his days and nights switched around!!!

meeting a friend in about an hour. Then tomorrow I'll go to my stepmother's after the nursing home and spend the night with her. I'll start heading back north Monday or Tuesday - depends on the weather. Snow the next few days in the NC mountains, but once I get out of the mountains, I should be fine all the way back. It's just not clear yet how much the mountains will get - and when.

QOTD: no superstitions (about anything, not just snow days). We only get a snow day maybe once every 10 years (I work at a university), but I take my own if the weather is really bad. As long as I don't have a meeting or desk shift, there's plenty I can do from home via the internet..

21 months out

B: Greek yogurt, raspberries, 1 T Kashi Crunch granola

S: double protein shake, coffee with half & half

L: Greek yogurt, orange, 5 baby carrots w/ 2 T hummus

D: I might have a fish taco when I meet my friend later on this afternoon. If so, I'll probably have a second one for din-din.

probably a Light & Fit yogurt later this evening if I'm hungry (I should be able to afford the calories if I stick to my plan)
