I posted an update in the VSG forum today! I think I might have figured my acid issue out, but we'll see.

I certainly don't have anything to add after all the excellent posts in this thread, but I wanted to post because my acid reflux is slightly different (and I know Grim said reflux can manifest itself in different ways). One of the old nicknames for it, "sour stomach", is pretty descriptive of mine. My stomach gets sort of gassy and burpy and it seems like it's full of some acidic or sour liquid - to the point I want to spit it out (although I can't and don't). I've never had pain or that burning sensation - it's more annoying and uncomfortable than anything else. I would say it was moderate before I had surgery, and I had it almost every day. After RNY, I had no problems at all with it for at least a year. Now I get it occasionally - maybe a couple times a week - and it's weak enough that Pepcid AC takes care of it (and sometimes I just ignore it). But I'm just hoping it's not going to come completely back at some point. Ugh. I'll tell my bariatric surgeon about it at my annual follow-up and see what he thinks (he's a general G/I surgeon but his main focus is WLS)
