What's on your Menu Today (Wednesday) RNYers?
Hello all, I have my 6-week appointment with NUT and Doc on Friday. I am wondering why I am sometimes having trouble keeping down lean, well chewed protein. My program says I should be on a regular full diet by 6 weeks but chicken will be fine at lunch, but the same chicken for dinner will not stay down .
QOTD: In Texas its normal to get all four seasons in a singe day...except for summer when it is just plain HOT!

S: 1 oz Deli Turkey with Mustard

I have that same leftover issue. One meal is usually okay. Second time I usually struggle. Third time is almost always a no-go. Even the smell makes me sick. I have to wait a few days, maybe a week before I can eat it again. I have no idea what that is all about. But you are not alone there!

Me too, on the leftover thing. Before surgery I was fine to eat leftovers. Enjoyed it, actually.
Now? Pouch is not a fan, and I've learned the hard way one too many times. Pouch is the boss of me. :(
Just because your doc says you should be able to do something, doesn't mean your pouch agrees. LOL

I couldn't eat much in the way of dense proteins at 6 weeks... not even close...
I have/had a very persnickety pouch, and I still struggle with some meats, and only some times, and only here and there... I can eat the same thing 5 times, and have 5 different reactions to it! LOL
I did/do better with beef than I do with chicken... and only recently have I successfully eaten chicken breast that was just cooked 'as is' and not pounded down/ in a sauce/ or cooked to death in the IP...
Hang in there, and go slow... you are still healing

Hello all - bad eating day for me yesterday. Was up for over 28 hours because of having to work Monday night and having to be at Dr appt / Nutrition classes from 9 AM until after 1:30. I drank a protein shake for breakfast on the drive to appointment. Dinner with friend was at large Chinese Buffet. Ate way too much and did not even make good choices. Up 7 pounds today...thanks to the sodium.
Upset with myself, but putting it behind me and moving on...think I will stick to protein shake for two meals today and a healthy salad with chicken added for Dinner.
On the upside my appointment with Surgeon's PA went well. Found out I can even eat one sensible meal a day during my two week pre surgery diet long with my two daily protein shakes.
Today is a new day!!!
Breakfast - Protein Shake
Lunch - Protein Shake
Dinner Romaine lettuce salad w/ cucumber, green bell pepper onion, chicken
