Hello,

I am 14 years  post op and have ulcers, has anyone else had this problem? I know its very common with Weight Loss Surgery.

I had an ulcer twice. I was put on Carafate and a PPI for 3 months, and I avoided acidic foods. ( Gave up coffee while undergoing treatment. That sucked. )

Have you been to see your surgeon or your PCP? What type of help do you need? If you haven't, being seen in the first step in getting relief.

It isn't more common in those that have WLS than than those who haven't. It's just that if we do get ulcers, they can be more serious.

I'm assuming you are following precautions to avoid ulcers -- no NSAIDs of any kind -- ibuprofen, aspirin, etc etc -- no smoking, no alcohol, no caffeine, no acidic foods. Stress can also cause ulcers.

What about cussing and bacon? Those are okay, right?
