What is on your Thursday Menu RNYers?
Haha. If I saw my post 6 months ago i'd be floored. I do look forward to eating a bit more but of course I'll wait till i'm cleared by my team on that.

I had sleep issues for a couple of months after surgery, I could not sleep on my side which is my normal sleeping position. I also had an umbilical hernia which had to be operated on 2 months after my rny. Once that was healed I started sleeping better. I have never been a great sleeper though. I still have issues here and there.

I'm not a back sleeper either, but about 2 weeks ago I was able to sleep on my side and tummy. I get a good first 4-5 hours sleep, but then I wake up to go to the restroom, and depending on the time, I may go back to bed, I may not.
I keep thinking this is just general surgery stuff, especially since in the hospital you're woken up 50 times to take meds and vitals. I went through a similar thing in 2014 after my C-section, but I was up to feed my son and then I'd go right back to sleep, and I know that resolved itself eventually.
I'm also going through post-op depression/anxiety, so sometimes my mind races with concerns when I go back to bed and then I can't find sleep again.
Does this all get better, and if so, how long did it take for any of you?

I'm not sure why surgery messes with sleep so much for some of us, but it sure did for me. I would go to sleep okay, but would wake up at 3:00 and be wide awake. There was about two weeks where it was truly horrible and then started to improve. I still have those nights but they are less often than before. But... I am now an early riser and I haven't been since I was a little kid. I get up at 5:00 in the morning now and can't sleep past 6:00 on weekends. It's all good now because I have so much more energy and get by fine on 7-8 hours of sleep.
And the depression/anxiety will get better too. The hormones are crazy for you now and that will start to even out too. Losing weight can have a ton of emotional baggage too. I sometimes feel panicked when I see a lower number on the scale because I used weight for years to keep men away, having been hurt in the past. I'm slowly coming to terms with that.
Hang in there!

that is why I can't buy moon cheese. 4.5 servings in one little bag? Mr Chese O's is at least one bag=one serving

Hey yall
QOTD: I really love the carbmaster products they sell at Kroger grocery stores. low in calories and high in protein. I also like the kays naturals chips, protein quest chips. havent tried carbquick but it might be next on my list! I'm also liking tazo decaf chia tea bogs with SF torani pumpkin spice syrup in it and a little milk- like a pumpkin chai tea latte! yumm
Today after work going to run a bunch of errands then going to yoga. thought about running again last night but didn't make it. I did steam an eggplant in my instant pot and ate some with chicken and corn/bean salsa for dinner and it was yummy.
stats for yesterday were:
796 cal
99 prot
37 carb
today the plan is:
B: hillshire farm gilled chicken to go/CM milk/decaf
S:
L: prot pancakes i think
D: unsure
S: maybe more prot pancakes
Pumpkin Chai te latte -yummm. I have chai and pumpkin syrup so may need to try this.
No carbmaster stuff here, so use the Fairlife milk...
OK- how are you using the steamed eggplant? All I can think of is baba ganoush.
What kind of protein pancakes? I made some protein waffles last week, ate 2 and then froze the rest. Sometimes I struggle with whether it will be a trigger.

I peeled it cut it up- added seasonings and then steamed in instant pot for about 3 min.
i ate it will baked chicken thigh and a roasted corn and bean salsa- it was yummy.
I make protein pancakes with small curd cottage cheese, 1 scoop protein powder, a little milk, 6 tablespoons egg white, vanilla, cinnamon, and a tablespoon of bobs red mill gluten free flour. make like normal pancakes - ends up making 8 per batch, just under 40 cal. i eat them with the hodgkins sugar free syrup- no calories and very good- I will usually serve with some kind of mean otherwise i would want to eat 9 million of them. So have to limit. sometimes i make french toast for DH with this recipe and regular bread- he gets more protein and he can eat the bread.
Good morning and it's Friday-eve people! Don't you wish they could also do surgery on our brain?!?!
QOTD: The only thing I really order are my calcium vitamins. I use the bariatric advantage chocolate ones and usually order them on Amazon.
Time since surgery: 2 years, 1 month
B: SF latte, egg beaters with shredded cheese, 2 turkey sausage links
L: Bananas and cream protein shake with powdered PB2 with chocolate
S: SF latte, Carbmaster white chocolate raspberry yogurt, Buddig beef and pork rinds
D: Albacore tuna melt (1/2 flat out and shredded cheese), FF cottage cheese, carrots and SF pudding
