You look great and are clearly super healthy!  Not sure if I am up for that low but I might try it if my body doesn't like more carbs.

Thank you for your info.  It really helps to get a sense of what others are having success with.

Also...you are WAY faster than I will ever be I am sure of that!

Thanks!  I have PCOS and am carb sensitive. Like I can gain weight just like that [snaps fingers] if I eat a lot of processed high glycemic index carbs..

Skinny,

As a fellow PCOS sufferer, I would love to hear more about what to avoid and what to look for in my foods as far as carb and calorie counting...  the pcos forum here isnt that active and I was just wondering if you had some up to date links or research you might have stumbled across on your journey?

Thanks!

I'm more liberal with carb intake. I try to stay below my protein goal (60g) but have gone as high as 90ish. I look at the source of my carbs and don't worry if it edges up as long as it's not from cakes, cookies, bread etc.

my surgeon/nut did not want me to eliminate carbs totally- but never told me a number to aim for or avoid.

I keep mine usually under 30 grams. I do not eat any breads or sweets. I used to be on diabetic meds before surgery so I have decided to keep that door closed. If I don't have any I don't want any of them. I have carbs from the green veggies and the whey protein powder. I also eat yogurt sometimes and that has carbs. I work out a couple of hours a day 5 days a week and have no problems.

I never had a carb number. I needed to count protein grams and drink 64 oz of non caloric fluid a day. I was supposed to eat dense protein first then vegetables. By then I would be full.

I'm glad I didn't have to count carbs too.  The RDA for carbs is 130gms/day. More for athletes because carbs are your instant energy source. Under 30 a day is hard and can lead to some real fatigue.

Good luck. Everyone has opinions about carbs. It is those yummy sugary carbs and for me frequent toast that can lead to regain.

I am about to hit my 7 year surgiversary and here are the macros I shoot for at this point:

Protein has to be between 100-120g per day

Fats between 50-65g per day (nuts, cheese, olive oil, coconut oil, avocado...stuff like that)

Carbs I TRY to keep in the 50's but in the summer, I sometimes creep up into the 70's because I ea****ermelon and summer berries like no tomorrow.

I also use MFP like everyone else and I track every darn calorie.  I can pretty much eyeball food by this point and tell what I'm getting out of it and that helps; don't get me wrong, we might have a 'moment,' where we eat off plan...but when the moment is over, it's right back on track and keep moving.  I deal with issues in my head; eating because crap happens in my family and instead of letting it go and moving on, I eat and hermit.  I am learning to stop doing that and I'm learning that exercise and activity and being productive makes me feel way better than escaping into another world trying to get away from it all.  It's been a rough past couple of years but between the gym and MFP, I am able to stay on track the overwhelming majority of the time.

Seven years is phenomenal. Give yourself credit where credit is due.  The percentages of folks that are still where you are at 7 years ain't pretty.  You are well above average successful. I hope to follow in your foot steps!

Oh thank you!!!  I really appreciate your sweetness!  It's definitely an everyday struggle for me; food was my medicine so trying to get off that is like trying to stop a true addiction and unlike alcohol or drugs, food is A LOT harder to get away from in my opinion because it is literally everywhere you go.  Good luck to us all in this forever journey!!!
