I have finally found a few jerkys I like, because they are a little softer- Krave brand and Perky Jerky (Turkey) find at Walmart. Also Trader Joe's bacon Jerky is good, and a little spicy.

I never ate pork rinds before either, but find I prefer the microwave yourself kind. You just put a few on a paper towel in the microwave and watch them pop. I bought them off Bariatriceating, but I am sure there is somewhere else you can get them too.

Tuna in a pouch - Herb and Garlic.

I'm only Stage 3, but my current favorites are egg salad, cottage cheese, greek yogurt and unsweet applesauce.  I prep everything on the weekends and put it in 4 oz containers so that I can just grab a serving from my shelf in the frig and go.

Thanks everyone! I have a tendency to eat the same thing over and over again and then get burned out. These are some great suggestions!

I am assuming your bariatric eating plan allows snacks, as some don't.

Even with a snack, we should have protein and veggies.  Low carb can mean low nutrient-calorie dense (high calories).  We still need to be careful.

I'm gluten free and low sugar (under 9 grams per serving).  I can find GF or sugar free foods (processed) that taste good but they are really empty calories and add little nutrition value to fuel your body and internal organs.

I'm currently keeping a food journal and find I don't want to consume calories that don't really provide for my health.

My general rule for protein is 1 gram protein per 10 calories.  If something is 200 calories and provides 8 grams of protein - then I consider it a poor protein choice.  And 200 calories is a lot if you are staying at 800-1000 calories a day.

Best wishes on your journey.

Thanks Penny, I am 12 years out and stayed at goal weight until very recently.  I lost a loved one and during the illness I just turned to bad carbs.  Working on getting the weight off I put on and have a tendency to eat the same thing over and over again LOL  Everyones low carb snack suggestions are so appreciated.
