I don't like Perfect Iron ! any ideas.
I'm taking Perfect Iron but I don't like them dissolving on my tongue before I drink something, those little orange pills are chalky. I would like to try something else that is reasonably priced. I have been taking 4 a night with 1000mg Vitamin C. I did have my Ferritan checked and the number was 68 not sure how good that is.

Take heart because they've changed the pills and they now have a coating on them that keeps them from dissolving easily. I actually preferred them to start dissolving a little bit. I miss that!
I really am not sure what else is out there as far as other brands of carbonyl iron, but I need to find something else now too. I really liked the Perfect Iron and am mad that they've changed the surface of the pills.

That's what OP is taking now, I think. I noticed a change in the surface with the last bottle I bought. Boo.

I just last night ordered Bariatric Advantage chewable Iron 60 mg (lemon-lime flavored) with 250 mg vitamin C. They are ferronyl carbonyl. The reviews are good. I start them right after my surgery (Friday) and will let you know my review of them.
The lower strengths are different flavors.

I don't know what's in them exactly, but my Dr. prescribes me Ferocon, which I believe can be used as a prenatal also. From what I can find on Google (nothing real specific) it's an iron pill with other supplements in it as well. He said I need a good multi on top of it, but that it has enough iron in it for what I (we) need.
I know that's not real helpful because I don't know more about it, but maybe ask your doc about it? Being prescribed and generic, it's REALLY cheap. under my plan, I get 3 months for $5.
