What's On Your Monday Menu, RNYers?

Good morning!  I had such a busy weekend, that I'm almost glad to be back at work and not running around like a crazy person.  Almost.  My son's bridge building competition was a success; his team came in 17th out of 149 bridges that were tested in his age group, which was the best finish for his school.  He was pretty happy about that, but I think he was happiest about the free donuts and pizza.  And all the kids from his school that competed get to wear their Bridges Build 'Em and Bust 'Em t-shirts today instead of their regular uniforms.  A dress down day is always appreciated.  LOL  The rest of the weekend was filled with other school stuff, Cub Scout stuff, basketball practice, church, honey extraction, etc.  Like I said, I'm almost happy to be back at work today.

You know what's awesome?  Turtlenecks. And turtleneck sweaters.  I love them!  They're like candy corn, though.  You are either a fan of the cozy comfort or you feel like you're being choked.  What say you?

Time since surgery:  1 day shy of 16 months

B:  coffee and a Friendship Fit to Go cottage cheese

S:  Click Mocha and the last 1/3 of the Pumpkin Pie Quest bar I had yesterday.  This was good!  I'm glad, too, because I ordered a half a box from Amazon.  LOL

L:  Buffalo chicken salad with pork rinds and a cheese stick

D:  Baked pork chop and steamed green beans

TOTALS:  Cals:  871  Protein:  120 (nice, right?  LOL)  Carbs:  37  Fat:  33

Have a great day everyone!

Wow nice protein! I will be glad when I get to the point of getting my menu all worked out and my nutritional values calculated. I'm just not there yet. I'm only 5 weeks postop and had several complications after that kept me from getting started, but things are getting better.

There is a definite learning curve when it comes to re-learning how to eat.  You will absolutely get there!

Oh I definitely fall into the feeling choked category. I don't even like crew necks.

My weekend was busy but good. It ended on a real high note since I found out last night both of my best friends that recently moved away are BOTH going to be in town for Thanksgiving!

Hello! After 5 days straight hanging out at the hospital, Dad is finally home...and I am, too!

SO glad to have a normal-ish routine today! After I finish this post I am heading straight to the gym and I'm not leaving until they kick me out (or I can't walk anymore, which should be in about an hour, haha!).

Here's the plan for today:

B: 1 egg with salsa

S: almonds and babybell cheese

L: sliced turkey and dollop of butternut squash

S: greek yogurt

D: kale salad with cottage cheese and sliced apples

S: maybe a protein shake after the gym, if I feel like I need it...

Edited to add totals:

Calories: 677 / Protein:67 / Carbs: 55 / Fat: 21

And also forgot to express my deep deep love for the cashmere turtleneck sweater! Possibly the only good thing about winter...
