What's on Your (photo) Friday Menu, RNYers?
Good morning. I was in court this morning, so super late post for me. No weekend plans. I was supposed to run the Rock and Roll half marathon in Las Vegas on Sunday night, but my doctor nixed those plans. I had a follow up with my surgeon yesterday regarding my abnormal labs and while things are improving (yay), in his opinion they have not improved enough for me to run two half marathons in 3 weeks (boo). So instead of flying to Vegas tomorrow I think I'm going to sit at home and pout.
Food is all messed up because of court, but here's the plan so far:
B: caramel apple overnight oats, half a serving of somersaults and 6 grapes on the way to court (I was hungry)
S: SF Vanilla Latte (there is an independent coffee place by the court house and their coffee is delish)
L: Leftover tri-tip
S: Somersaults and grapes
D: ?? I'm supposed to meet a friend for dinner but we haven't pinned down a location. Since my menu is light on protein, I'm sure it will be some sort of meat or fish.
S: Even though I've already had coffee, I can't pass up Starbucks BOGO, so likely a skinny peppermint mocha
Totals (without dinner) cal 783; Protein: 64g; Fat: 23g; Carbs: 75g (those totals need some work!)
Thank you. My brother and a friend are running it. I haven't been able to click the button cancelling my flight. Part of me wants to suck it up and go cheer them on and the other part wants to have a pity party. At least there's no part of me that wants to go against doctor's order and run anyway! There's always next year!. We should all pick a race that's midway between us all and run together. That would be so much fun!!
That would be awesome and it's a fun, fast course. Vegas down the strip at night! My friends who have run It before say its a blast, and since I can't do this year, I'm definitely running it next year! Also, the hotels were relatively inexpensive. We had a room at mandalay bay which is about where the run starts and they didn't jack up the prices for this weekend at all. I say we do it!
