The scale
In the beginning I didn't weigh myself much because I knew I was healing from surgery, plus I was going thru the stages. I didn't start with the scale until I was on solid food. For one it was nice seeing that first drop & it was motivational to keep it up. I weigh myself 2x a week, mostly to see where I've been & what direction I'm going so I can make adjustments if needed.

I weigh myself everyday but only before I have started eating food or drinking something for the day. For me I think it helps me stay focused. Even now when I am on an extended plateau it encourages me to see my weight is staying steady, and I am not gaining.

Actually normal freshly post op... eventually you will get it out of your system and not worry too much about the scale; done it too. In the beginning, I did after everything I ate, upon rising, and right before resting... I got tired of it. These days maybe once a week or every other week. I go by how my clothing fit more these days. The weight will not magically go away... so tools of the trade... vitamins, hydration, protein always first, and exercise... don't forget to relax too.
