The price of boiled eggs.

I bought a bag of already boiled and peeled eggs yesterday. It was so hard to do. My mother's voice was yelling at me for being so NOT thrifty! I had to push hard.

You know what? The eggs are great. They are perfectly cooked and ready to eat when I need a meal. They were cheaper than a slice of cheesecake. I never agonized whether that was too expensive.

This is a food victory for me.

LOL xo my friend... something drew me to it ;)

My convenience versus price thing is Butternut Squash cubes at Costco... I could buy one at the Farmer's market or supermarket and peel and chop but I'd eat it less... and I might have one less finger ;)

Interesting. I just bought a bag myself and they were gross--very chemically tasting and kind of rubbery. I wonder if I just got bad batch or if the ones I tried were not a quality brand? Maybe I'll try again, because I agree that the cost is totally worth the convenience :)

I boil a dozen eggs, then crack the shells and hold them under cold running water. The shells slip right off.

If this doesn't work, it is because the eggs are too fresh. Eggs need to sit in your fridge for at least one or two weeks before you boil them. I just keep two cartons of eggs on hand so that they are aged by the time I get around to boiling them. But hubby and I can easily go through a carton a week.

I LOVE hard boiled eggs. I love pickled eggs more :)

I love pickled eggs! When we go down to visit family in LA, we'll stop at Philippe's French Dip and they have pickled eggs that are the most beautiful magenta color all the way through! So delicious.

I once had pickled eggs and tequila.

I don't like pickled eggs.
