Almost two years out -- best thing I ever did in my life with the notable exception of having my son. Not one regret.

Hi,
I had a terrible experience with my lap-band-it had eroded into my stomach. My doc removed the band, did some repair work and RNY. I've done really well and wish I had the RNY originally. But live and learn, I am very happy with my RNY. Keep coming to these support boards and get the support you need.
Regards,
Karen
15 months out and no regrets.... Forget the people 'knowing people' who had problems. Follow the rules, do what you are supposed to, take your vitamins...... People can have problems with any surgery, it is surgery. Side effects can happen. Doesn't mean it is going to happen to you.

Hi Jeni,
Two weeks out is a strange place, you have lost some weight, you are recovering, you are mostly drinking protein shakes and you are or at least I, was SUPER TIRED. I had a small issue with dizziness in the first 10 days and had to stop the blood thinner medication and then I gradually felt better and better. I am now 4 1/2 months out and so excited, over the moon happy with my decision to get RNY. I feel fantastic, I am starting to believe I will finally get to lose all the weight and be the skinny girl I have dreamed of forever. I have blown threw all my clothes, I went from my big girl clothes to my pre-pregnancy clothes to my wedding weight clothes, and I am now a size smaller then my wedding weight clothes! It's great to read the posts on this site you learn and are encouraged a ton! May I also sugges****ching youtube videos about gastric bypass, I watch them as I get ready in the morning and it is super inspiring. A few of my favorites, Mellie Mei, Finding Elizabeth, Watch Pattimelt, Nerd in Oregon, you can go back to the beginning of their journey and follow along.
And about the what ifs, i will take whatever what ifs could happen over being obese and all that goes along with it!
Best of Luck
Like you, I am considered a success with RNY too. I had my WLS in 2013: HW297, SW252, current weight 115. I have kept to the rules and can eat what I wish, but I really look forward and not eat what I used to but eating better and better quality of foods. I got quality of life and seeing this as a second chance at doing the right things. Pre-op I had GERD, diabetes, high cholesterol, HBP, and physically everything hurt.... not any more! No pain meds or other medications, just vitamins.
