Anyone have any experience with the 5 day pouch test?

It has been around a long time.  Don't remember anyone that did not lose a pound or two and gain it right back.

I did it to jump-start my journey back to eating right.  I was miserable though those first few days.  I did lose some weight, but I'm not convinced I wouldn't have just lost the same amount had I cut the carbs, gone protein forward and gotten enough water in.  I'm not sorry I did it, but I wouldn't do it again.  Just my experience.  Good luck.  Do what's right for you!

Never done the pouch test.  I feel that since I can still eat some what smaller portions and do tend to get stuck or have that full feeling present when I start to fill up, I know that my tool is still in tact.

I think some people like to do this to get back to basics, but what has worked for me with the regain I have had is to just get back to basics, directly.   I focus on protein and nutrient rich foods for all meals and I find that I am not grazing and I am not having to fight head hunger at all.

I hope this is somewhat help for you!

As I undertand it, and in my experience, the 5DPT is simply a technique to get you back to basics for eating if you've begun to slide or are loosing confidence in your eating vs your tool.

It's not a diet.  It's a little kick in the rear.

If you're looking for a long term diet to follow, you're looking in the wrong place.  If you're seeking a 'reset' then it works for some people, and some people can't even do it.  (though IMO that's completely psychological- of course anyone CAN do it.)  I've done it more than once over the years.  I find it to be an interesting test of my own insight into how I'm eating.

I personally find Atkins induction phase to be more useful (and easier!) than the 5DPT.  It pretty much gets you in the same mode- just skips the liquid phase and allows some limited veggies.
