I'm here in a public washroom stall for the last 40 minutes heaving and wrenching horrible slime !

I ate some dry salmon way too fast and got really sick..... so I need to tell you guys that "the foamies" is way too cute of a name for what is happening right now. I would name it the whattheFishappeningtomerightnow-ies.

I hear ya! I'm almost 9 months out and I got the 'whattheFishappeningtomerightnow-ies, last night too. I know it was because a drank (gulped) some Snapple just 10 minutes before having my 2 oz of carved turkey - and then I ate it a little fast because I was hungry. Big mistake. You'd think I'd have learned my lesson by now, right? Yes, foamies soon become slimies, which then brings up all the good protein I just ate and I have to start over (if I can), only much slower this time. Will I ever learn?

So, yeah - I like your name better!

I am almost 7 months out and I get the slime often!! Sometimes my own fault, and other times I have NO IDEA why it happened! It is honestly the WORST thing about the surgery for me!

The name "foamies" makes it sound so innocent! lol

I am 2 years out, if I eat dry meat, chicken, fish or any cereal, I still get the foamies and vomiting. I had to carry plastic bags around with me everywhere and sometimes pull over in my car I threw up so much.

It does get better. You can try foods again after about 4 weeks, if you can stomach it.

Eating has become a learning curve.

Feel better!

Well, I find "the foamies" are really a good object lesson. Even ten years out I can still forget to take it slow with disastrous results. It doesn't happen often, though!

Baby your pouch with broth and liquids for a couple of days until it feels better.

If I'm at home when the foamies start, sometimes I can lay down flat and take deep breathes for about 10 minutes and avoid the next stages (slimies and vomiting)... then whatever caused it will usually pass. But that's kinda hard to do when at work, or in your case... in a public restroom. That sucks! Hope you feel better.

I am 14 years post op and I still get the "foamies" when I heave. I don't think I have actually thrown up since I had RNY, its just been foam. I still have episodes where it happens and its horrible, but I do know my tool is still in tact!

Love your name for it tho!
