Revision RYN results

I am preparing for a revision of my RYN from 10years 7months ago. I noticed the past 4 years that I could eat more and more and that I was getting no Satiety after eating but thought that my pouch had stretched out but found that my stoma is enlarged causing all my food to enter the intestine soon after eating. Which explains why I am eating more than normal. I get hungry every couple of hours and my symptoms are getting worse and causing a lot of bloating with no satisfaction with anything I eat and of course my worse enemy weight gain. With that being said I would like to know if anyone has had a revision surgery? I am interested in the results after the surgery and side effects. I am currently just going through a series of doctor exams prior to a surgery date. Please any information will be very helpful.

With my regain the doctor checked up my pouch and stoma size. Fortunately they were still in great shape. I just learned to eat around it with carbs and grazing. It's amazing how much I could eat by just eating toast every two hours.

The one thing I've always done is not drink with my meals or for 30 minutes after.

I don't know anyone who has had this surgery. I do know that now that I'm back here, being mindful of eating, being accountable, eating dense proteins...all those things..is that I'm losing weight again and feel confident it will continue.

I hope you find the right answers for you.

The only people I know who have success seem to be those *****vised from RNY to DS but there are only a few surgeons in the country who have the skill necessary to do this. The revisions where the stoma is revised do not seem to help much.

The bottom line is you need to eat less to lose weight. I can eat a ton, but choose not to.

Good luck.

Thanks for the feedback. Ive tried eating less and healthy but feeling hungry every hour even when yoz eat protien is a crazy mental state for me. And since food is dumping right into my small intestine ir causes major bloating and IBS. I am meeting with my surgeon to discuss this in more detail. Thanks for the feedback

Just research all of your options before making your decision (and that may include getting a second opinion from another bariatric surgeon). Best wishes!!

From what I have read here on OH, Dr. Keshishian & Dr. Rabkin are the best at RNY to DS conversions. I believe both of them are located in California.
