ahh, the food monster hit us both this morning. Only I had a sprinkled covered cake donut. It was delicious. But I must now make good choices for the rest of the day. This will include running at lunchtime. I need to start being active again. I ran for the first time in a week on Friday and it was glorious. My lungs cried bloody murder but my legs were fully compliant. I am finally over my nasty cold (about 95%) yay!. But it looks as though I have given it to my husband and co-workers. BOOO!

Good morning,
Happy Monday, a crazy morning here, but hopefully we've settled down for the day. Another crazy week for me though, I have at least one appointment every day this week, dd has 4 games this week, I have to volunteer at the Truck or Treat on Saturday all before going to a surprise 60th birthday party Saturday. This weekend was jammed full with a game, a birthday party, and all the usual weekend errands and house cleaning. I'm tired already.

Don't feel too bad AV, I had a bite of the most delicious apple fritter this weekend. And too much chili. I've decided, as much as I love chili, this stuff just doesn't belong on my menu on a regular basis, even though I'm eating it today. It's too much of a slider food and I can eat way too much of it.
This weekend we had friends over for dinner and cards on Saturday, and they brought with them the spoils of their trip to the apple orchard, in the form of cider, donuts and the most delicious apple fritters I've ever had. I resisted well, until later in the night when I was holding the baby on my lap while playing cards, and he shoved the rest of his sticky, sweet fritter into my hand. I didn't care that it had two year old baby slobber on it, I ate that bite without a second thought.
I'm banning my friends from bringing junk to my house. Uuggh, how am I going to make it through the holidays? I host both Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner at my house. I tried making pumpkin muffins with almond meal and coconut flour, and I guess I didn't put enough stevia in them because they were blah. i made the famous blueberry ricotta bake, and I loved it. I think I'll use my hand mixer next time, since i think that will make is creamier than just beating it by hand. It was delicious. I made it using liquid Stevia. It was not super sweet, and my husband wasn't a huge fan. Which is good, because that means more for me!
I got some pretty bad news this weekend. My mom most likely has lung cancer. She asked me not to tell anyone in the family until after she has a biopsy, but she has a spiculated legion that has appeared in the last year. He doctor was very straight forward with her about the odds of it being cancer, so we're dealing with that. She's only 61 years old, and she's been smoking for over 40 years. She has COPD already, and as of yesterday she is still smoking. Though she insists it's only 1 in the morning and 1 in the evening. I went to visit her yesterday and she didn't smoke at all in the 3 hours we were there. She is also taking antibiotics for walking pneumonia. She told me yesterday morning on the phone, and I kept it together until after we hung up. My mom and I have had an odd relationship, and I've been very independent of her since I was in my late teens. She hasn't always been the best mother in the world, but I love her with all of my heart. I'm terrified of losing her and my kids not getting to know her growing up. I'm just scared.
Anyway, all the stress and I'm staying strong and staying on plan. That one bite of apple fritter was before my mom even told me the news, and I refuse to let that stupid fritter, and my moms health make me run to food. I've spent this morning looking for a therapist in my area. i honestly think i need to go and deal with some of my issues, with food and just other baggage I've been carrying for years. Right now, you guys are all the therapy I have.

D: spaghetti squash with tomato and italian sausage sauce, with 2 ounces of shrimp

totals:
Cal 871 Protein 72 carb 60 fat 43 (need more protein)
I'm sorry to hear about your Mom. I hope this news give her the incentive to quit smoking for good. I envy people who bake, that one thing I can't do. Even if its healthy--if I like it the whole thing will be gone.
I've been endulging in Halloween candy a little too often. MY weekend's NSV was opting now to take advantage of a great candy sale. In the past I would have convinced myself I'd buy it for the trick o' treaters, all the while knowing they would last till Halloween.
