To buy new bras or wait?

Okay. I've lost 65 pounds. And even though, I still have a lot going on in the boobs departmnt, they are now just a bit deflated. I've been having mid back pain, and have been seeing my cutie patootie chiropractor, in a strictly professional sense, of course.

I'm starting to wonder if it's lack of support from these puppies dragging me down. I hate to buy new bras now, because I know I'll have to get more in a few months, but the pain is unbearable.

Anyone have a suggestion on a bra that will fit now at size 18 but maybe shrink with me, or be supportive but cheap?

I would not go for cheap. Go somewhere and get measured and buy a bra that gives you support. You will look and feel so much better. If you have to wa**** out every night, that is better than the back aches.

I go to a specialty boutique where they only sell bras.

Once you know exactly what size and brand works for you, you often can find the same bra online for a much lower price.

I have also had good results at Dillards. I never buy a bra without being measured first. Every brand is a little different and good fit makes everything I wear look better.

Her Room has a huge selection and runs sales frequently. They also have a good selection of posture support bra's. They seem to help with thoracic pain.

I'd go for the new bra. I second the suggestion to go to a specialty place. I like Soma a lot and the ladies are super helpful. I wear the stunning support balconette after trying out several of their bras. When I was in the fitting room, I jumped around, sat down, bent over and twisted to make sure I had a good fit. Also remember that you may not just be changing band sizes, but cup sizes as well. You might get a better fit with a larger cup size and a smaller band than your current size. I'd avoid VS--I've never had a good fit there.

If you decide to hold off for a bit you can buy enhancers from Target and that will give you some umph and make the bras you have last a bit. Also Victoria Secrets have trained staff that can measure you and get you in the right size. by the way this is a NSV :)

Getting new bras really can't wait. But the good news is that it is so much easier to get them once you are smaller. I bought 3 underwire molded bras for $10 each from Walmart and Target to get me through the weight loss phase. I will get measured once I reach goal. The inexpensive ones are working just fine for now.

I actually get the best support from some of my cheapest bras. A 2-pack I got at TJ Maxx for $9 are my current favorites. I started in a 44C with hook extenders (so probably really a 46-48). When they got too big without the extenders, I bought new ones in 36-38D and put the extenders back on to get a longer lifespan out of them (yes, I actually gain a cup size when I lose weight). They fit great without the extenders now, and it saved me from needing to buy new bras in every size along the way.

Extenders are a great idea.

A place for bras that are great quality and cheap is Sears at 12 Oaks Mall. They have a back room where everying is marked down. It is in the corner of the store. A bra that cost $35 is 50% off, then put in the room for another 20-40% off. I got my last set of bras before I lost weight from there. I'll probably be going back soon, but I have a lot of back fat still and don't need to change sizes yet.
