goal change

I am 2 years out and have lost 230ish pounds. My first goal was 180. Made that and kept going. I set a new goal at145. I have gotten as low as 147 and I fluctuate now 150 to 155. I got back to basics to see if I could get there and even doing everything as in the beginning and I still exercise almost everyday for 45 min to 1 hr, I still hang around 150. I am happy there and if I get to 155 I really crank things up because that is my limit I have set to not go over. I feel good about where I am and thinking about making my goal at or below 155 instead of 145. In the back of my mind I kinda feel like Im giving up, but maybe my body says it is happy at the 150s. I have heard that your body knows where it wants to be so I guess I should listen. Lol.

I will be 3 years November. My goal was 165 - I hit 170 wear a size 8/10. I am happy with myself - but it has taken me the past year to realize that I am 56 and happy and healthy. My surgeon told me as long as I don't go above 185 I am good. I step on the scale every morning to keep myself in check. I will am staying at 170 and I happy for that!! Your body is at its happy place!!

230 pounds lost is amazing. I know the struggle of figuring out a goal. I am there.... Can I ask what you based your goals on? Just curious as I am getting closer trying to figure out what is reasonable for myself... Better to find a happy maintenance then constantly beating yourself up...

How tall are you? What is your body fat percentage? How many calories a day are you eating?

If you are happy where you are, then of course all is good. Just stay vigilant. From year 2-3 it gets much tougher for many of us.

I set my original goal to 150lbs because that was always the number I wished I was in my head when I was heavy. After looking at the BMI chart and realizing there will be regain after the honeymoon period - I re-adjusted my goal to 140lbs which is exactly in the middle of the 'normal' range. I am at 141 and feel good right here but 150 will be my warning bell. I weigh myself every morning to keep me mentally in the game.

My goal was 140, got down to 125. It was impossible to maintain. I sit between 130-135, therefore I am still considered overweight for my height (4'11"). I have had to accept it and keep doing what I'm doing. I loved how I felt at 125, but not how I looked. I get cranky if I reach 135.

I say revisit your goal so you have a resonable\maintainable weight and you don't drive yourself to depression not getting to your goal that is impossible for your body to reach.
