It was time for a new car, and I have been driving the same car for the last 9 years. This week my exhaust bracket broke and my exhaust has been bouncing around under the car. Thank goodness it's still attached and not noisy, but it's only a matter of time.
I had been researching cars for the last year, since my oldest got his driving permit. I have been driving a Ford Focus, but didn't really like the new ones because I had trouble fitting into the seat comfortably. My husband had one temporarily while we were waiting for his Flex to be delivered, and I really didn't like it.
Fast forward 6 months and 60lbs lost. Iwent shopping last night and guess what I bought? I new Focus, that I fit comfortably in. Life is great.
I need a new car, but I don't want to spend the money. I have a 2006 Honda Civic with 183,000 miles. Last week I drove the grandkids to ballet class and somehow drove over the parking curb. I didn't hear a thing. When I left, I heard lots of noises, my front bumper is almost off. My husband drilled holes and used cable ties. I am really looking like a shady character. But the car is still driveable.

Congrats!!! It's a great feeling-to be able to fit in places "normal" people can fit into, especially smaller cars. I'd cringe if I had to ride in a small car pre-surg.
My husband has a Miata that he races. Before surgery, I couldn't fit at all. I rode in it exactly one time because I was just too big to fit easily. The seat belt barely fit me. It was embarrassing.
I still haven't ridden in it post-op because he took out the passenger seat..haha, but I CAN sit in the driver's seat, and climb in through the roll cage bars, when he needs help. I'd never have been able to do that without my surgery.
I woke up in between a memory and a dream...
