Good Morning! It's mandatory flu shot day here at my job and the nurse who just gave it to me must have trained with MMA fighters because she jabbed me with more force than was necessary. LOL I'm not in any way needle phobic or a wimp when it comes to pain, but OW.

However, I'm still doing the happy dance because my husband is outta town until Thursday. Woo! He's got a work conference thing so it's just me and the Scoobs for a few days. Ahh, bliss. I even took a half day tomorrow so I can walk around the mall in peace. I might even treat myself to lunch. The possibilities are endless. LOL

Time since surgery: 14+ months

B: coffee, apple pie English muffin with 1 TB cream cheese

S: HB egg and a reduced fat cheese stick

L: Buffalo chicken salad, celery sticks and some pork rinds

D: Spicy black bean burger with a slice of thin cheddar and a Starkist tuna packet. Is this weird? LOL I didn't want to have another egg...

TOTALS: Cals: 870 Protein: 84 Carbs: 58 Fat: 35

Have a great day!

Oh no, sorry about the flu shot :( I took 3 children (ages 11, 8 & 3) to get theirs last night, and you would have thought that I was sending them in font of a live firing squad. Yeesh--the theatrics were sooo unnecessary! And of course, the 3 year old was the bravest!

I just tried the MOST delish treat for breakfast!!!!! Fit Frappe Spiced Chai Latte. So yummy for those of us who like "fall flavors". I had mine heated. Despite whatever I write here as my meal plan, I might just keep drinking these all day!

B: Fit Frappe Spiced Chai Latte

L: Hood Cottage Cheese with Chives

D: Turkey Chili with beans

S: Pumpkin Oikos Greek Yogurt

Exercise

I am trying to up the distance of my non-stop runs (jogs?...I am very slow!) a little more every few weeks, so today I will attempt 1.25 miles! No clue if I can do it, but I am going to try to push myself. Also, I am going to watch the entire season premire of Homeland while on the elliptical. That show gets my heart-rate pumping, even without the exercise!

I don't know if you have tried the couch to 5k app, but this will help you build up endurance.

I'm sure you will be fine upping the distance! When I started training for my first half-marathon we used the plan advocated by the Run Disney people which is to run intervals. That's still how I run my long distances. We run either 4:1 or 5:1 intervals. . . so we run either 4 or five minutes and then walk for 1. You would think that it would slow you down, but it really doesn't and it reserves some of your energy for the finish. I'm still pretty slow (I say I'm a member of team turtle) but running the intervals has allowed me to increase my speed. Good luck!

Thanks for the tip!

A close friend of mine is a trainer and she is helping me make a plan for endurance. Same idea--some days are shorter, but today was my first try over a mile.

Nailed it, btw!!
