What's On Your Monday Menu, RNYers?
on 10/5/15 9:10 am - GTA, Ontario, Canada
Hi ladies,
AV, love that you got a whole lot of coats, that.s awesome, I need a good Fall coat. I don't think any of us is ready for the Fall/Winter weather, summer was awesome and already I am running around complaining how cold I am, LOL
How are you all, everyone seems good and busy! Cold and raining here and I am home SICK! And I mean sick. OMG someone get me out of this misery. My husband has this cold/flu thing two weeks ago and I thought I was getting away unscathed, but Saturday night it just got worse and worse, running nose, running eyes, bad cough, fever, the whole bit. I can't sleep cuz when I lie down the phlegm comes up and I start to cough. My nose and eyes run constantly and I have been through a whole box of kleenex since 5am this morning. I have a whole arsenal of meds, Tylenol Cold & Flu, NeoCitran Day and Night, NyQuil, DayQuil and pretty much nothing is working. Needless to say, I am not a happy girl. I am trying to drink lots of tea and water but it hurts to swallow and I feel sick after I drink. So my "menu" is not really a menu.

10+ years post op, living & loving life!
Good morning! Had court this morning so a late post for me. It was so nice this morning to actually want to put my suit jacket on. Temps were in the 60's. It won't last though, supposed to get up to 103 on Saturday/Sunday. I am SOOO ready for fall. I had a bit of a breakdown this weekend. As some of you know if you read my posts, I'm having an issue with some of my lab results and, as a result, my medical team has resorted to drastic measures. My daily calorie goal is now 1200 (even though I was still about 5 lbs away from goal) and on exercise days, I have to eat back my calories. I'm training for a half-marathon and tend to burn a good amount of calories on exercise days (I wear a heartrate monitor so I'm pretty confident on the amount I burn and I actually give myself credit for fewer calories since I don't want to get back in the habit of overeating.) I physically cannot eat as much as they're requiring (some days up to 2500 on plan calories) and it is causing a massive amount of stress for me. I have another blood draw at the end of October and I'm afraid of what the next step is if my numbers don't improve. As I was sitting in my car waiting for my friend so we could go running on Saturday morning I shot off an email to my doctor that in hindsight makes me sound totally insane. As a result I have a Dr. appt. this afternoon to discuss my food issues. Hopefully they have some ideas for me because I'm about at the end of my rope. I'm ready to plant my butt in front of the TV and give up all exercise until this whole thing passes. I want to thank you all for this thread. . . even if no one reads my ramblings, it lets me get it out so it's not all bottled up inside. Tonight is supposed to be a running night, so it looks like a full day of food ahead of me. Thank you all again!
B: Ground turkey, spinach and feta cheese
S: Somersaults and grapes
L: salami and provolone roll ups (in the car before I go upstairs to the Dr.)
S: Kind Bar
D: New York strip and quinoa and veggie salad
S: Light and Fit and Peanut Butter
Totals: Cal. 1079; Protein: 98g; Fat: 52g; Carbs: 21g (way too low and my macros are all off . . . definitely a work in progress today.)
Just a quick check in this morning. I am in San Diego all week for business, and it is raining! It is gorgeous in Portland and raining in San Diego. What? I had a busy weekend with football, dinners out and taking my Dad to a neighborhood event. Then I had to fly out Sunday afternoon. Glad to land in the hotel last night and go to bed early.
My menu is totally up in the air today. I had a room service poached egg and bacon for breakfast, but everything else is unknown. Luckily, my company has pretty strict dietary rules for corporate sponsored meals, so I can be sure that there will be plenty of RNY friendly choices.
Have a great day everyone. Oh, yeah. Has anyone figured out how to post picture on OH after the changes? If so, please share. I am at a loss.

I'm feeling under the weather- so I laid low for most of the weekend. We went to the fancy shindig at work on Friday, they sat me next to my boss to so ruined my night (I don't care for her). We ended up leaving right after dinner. I used online shopping/pick up service for the supermarket for the fist time...I may never step foot in a supermarket again!!
