I have NO regrets about WLS..I feel great!!  But I am having a somewhat difficult time adjusting to my new body...I'm only 5 foot..small frame..So the first place I notice I lost weight was my face...I am NOT at my goal weight but right now I'm ok with that..My question is

1. Is it normal to be afraid to lose more weight bc I don't want my face any thinner? I don't want to look sickly...& now I have the wrinkles that b4 the weight stretched out  ( showing my age)  Ha!

2. any suggestions for facial products? cleanser  night cream  wrinkles  etc...(there is so much out there I don't know what really works)

weight loss is 70 lbs

I don't have any skin cream suggestions, but I will tell you that in the beginning I looked more wrinkled than I do now.  Things even out.  Don't stress, your body will stop when it's ready.

I'm 5'3" and the wrinkles work themselves out.  Sure, I still have some wrinkles (I'll be 50 next year), but they aren't bad.  To me it's the excess skin in my arms and legs that bother me more.

Thanks. Yeah I know wrinkles are normal at my age. I guess it's just getting use to seeing a different face in the mirror. ?

creams and lotions don't work. Save that money for a face lift when you reach goal.

It does change over the journey. I had more pronounced 'chicken neck' skin as I started losing ...it doesn't look like that as much now. At first I was told I was looking older, now i look younger. Your skin and face show your weightloss first. over time I think your body readjusts to it... and you won't look so drawn. I wouldn't want to stop short of goal because I was worried about my face.

I agree with the others, your body will keep adjusting for a while. You are not going to see the finished product immediately. Best wishes!

I think it is perfectly normal to have mixed feelings about loosing more weight. I am really pretty happy that I have lost the mere 43, but I do have some concerns about being a smaller person physically. I want to not be obese, but I want presence, if that makes sense. Then I remind myself of the people if smaller stature that have real presence. I do now have way more wrinkles as I deflate and shrink. It will take adjustment and gratefulness that I am no longer on cholesterol meds,  high blood pressure meds are reduced considerably, etc. Looking forward to flying inNovember without belt extensions and more comfort. Trade off, well worth it.
