What's On Your Thursday Menu, RNYers?
Beautiful weather here in Illinois and Lily and I have our three miles in already. We both love the cooler air. My favorite foods are chili especially made with venison and zuchini scroodles with pasta sauce and meatballs. For some reason these things always taste delicious! Post op 3 years 3 weeks and weight at 121 today. I am adding back in some exercise with thirty minutes on the bike and three miles walking. Nothing has changed with my eating but my weight is creeping up so time to get more active. I miss the variety anyway! I still track every bite I eat and drink. On track with vitamins and fluids and here's the eats: B 1/2 c steel cut oats with protein powder and half a banana with peanut butter L 31/2 oz chicken 1/2 c squash D 31/2 oz rotisserie chicken with 1/2 c green beans S Greek yogurt with nuts. Have a great day full of good choices everyone!
Woohoo on the NSV, AV! *high five*
I'm a pretty terrible cook, and the one dish I know how to make without screwing it up (portobello mushroom risotto) is not RNY friendly!) I'd say my favorite dish that I can "make" at home is a good tomato soup (canned LOL) with Tobasco in it. I've been craving it like mad- I'm sure most of you have noticed it on my menu every day.
Today I've got two things to concentrate on:
1) Paying attention to not drinking for 30 minutes after a meal. Of course, my meals tend to be liquid soups and shakes, so... *scratches head* How does that work with drinking? After I had my calcium chews yesterday, I was sure to keep dry for 30 minutes, though.
2) Get to the gym and back home without incident. The Pope is in town today. (Despite my name, I actually live in NYC.) The streets will be backed up and a ton closed off. I'm relying on public transport but also partly on cab service, as due to my location and disability, I need a short ride from the subway to my place of work/apartment. Thank goodness I live in the Bronx, though, as the cabs here shouldn't be affected. *crosses fingers*
It's been one month, 28 days since my surgery.
