Hi AV, Menu ladies
How is everyone! Sorry I have been MIA. Work has been insane and well it still is and this past weekend my sister and I threw my parents a 50th Wedding Anniversary party, it was pretty stressful the weeks leading up to it. All the work, getting food ready, decorations, etc but it was an amazing party and I am over the moon thrilled how it turned out. Now to get work to settle down!!! I like being busy at work, makes the days fly by but I have several deadlines that are crazy urgent and things are not lining up so I am stressed. When I am stressed I don't eat. So lately I have been surviving on more coffee than usual all day long, I don't recommend it, and this too shall pass. For me all my meals are pretty much the same size. I weigh and measure everything so other than my protein shake in the morning, lunch is 3-4 oz of protein and so is dinner and then I add in two protein snacks.
Time since surgery - closing in on two years (22.5 months)
B: 1 cup of 1% lactose free milk with two scoops of chocolate protein powder (from the Bulk Barn)
Snack: two cups of Pumpkin Spice coffee with 1% milk and one splenda
L: 4 oz Grilled turkey burger chopped up over 1 cup of mixed salad greens and 2 tbsp Kraft Balsamic dressing
S: two cups of Vanilla Hazelnut coffee with 1% milk and one splenda & then one Black Diamond Cheese String
D: 30z grilled chicken breast & 3/4 cup of grilled red pepper
S: Another Pumpkin Spice coffee and then 3 oz of bbq kielbasa and one Black Diamond Cheese String
TOTALS: 1205 calories, 142 protein, 41 carbs, 52 fat
V/W: AM vits are done, calcium on alarms. So far water is good, this is something I constantly have to work at
E: 5km jog a lunch and anther 5km jog later with the dogs when I get home
p.s. AV I made the Buffalo Chicken Salad about two weeks ago, it turned out great other than it was WAY to salty, not sure what I did wrong or what made it so salty. I used the "Franks Red Hot Sauce" recipe that I found on-line.
Happy Hump Day All!!

Hi Daisy! I'm not sure why it would be salty either. I don't add any salt when I make it and only use half of the Hidden Valley Ranch packet.
I'm late today! I have felt like the White Rabbit all day today! I have never really thought about when I get the most calories in... I know I am the most "hungry" as soon as I get home from work, but I think that's ingrained in my brain... I need a snack after school! I am going to review my MFP entries and check out it when most of my calories go in!
My menu today:
B: Tea with Truvia and a vanilla Premier Protein shake
L: Chicken salad (3 oz canned chicken with a little light mayo and sweet relish), 1/2 cup GG veggie medley
D: 3 oz of ground turkey with a little ketchup and 1/2 cup sauteed parm zucchini
Ss: 1 oz of sharp cheese and 1/4 Premier Protein bar
Totals: Calories - 860, Protein - 79, Carbs - 48. Sugars - 22, Fats - 42
Vits/water going in. Exercise - Zoey and I are going on a long walk this afternoon and I am cleaning my darn grown ass son's room this evening because I can't take it anymore!!! I have built a good head of steam up over this... so it will be great exercise!
You know I am not a clean fanatic... but damn, fold your clothes and close your dresser drawers!
Everyone have a most excellent day!!!
Good morning everyone. A late post for me as I had Court this morning (which really messes up my eating plan!). I tend to eat most of my calories from lunch on. I know conventional wisdom is to not eat late, but with my schedule, I'm pretty much forced to. I'm way too lazy to get my butt out of bed early enough to get my exercise in and make it to work on time, so I'm an after work exerciser. On those days I eat lunch and dinner late. At least 2 nights a week I take a late class (7:30) and don't get home until close to 9. Also, under my new plan of eating back my exercise calories, I find that I'm eating well into the night. The "eat back your calories" experiment has 6 more weeks and I'm hoping that it resolves my issues so I can get back to a more normal eating plan. As far as how I get my protein in, I'm 15 months post surgery and can eat enough to get at least 80g a day in just eating protein forward meals. Most of my meals include 3-4oz of a protein and then a side such as veggies. I also try to focus on protein filled snacks like yogurt or cheese. Here's the plan for the day:
B: Ground turkey, spinach and shredded Mozzarella and skinny vanilla latte
S: Somersaults
L: Grilled salmon and mixed veggies
S: Light and Fit and Peanut Butter
D: Tri Tip (3.5 oz) and Pear and Gorgonzola Salad
S: Outshine Bar
Cal. 1099; Protein105g; Fat: 33g; Carbs: 90g (high for my liking but it will make my medical team very happy!)
Enjoy the day!
1 week post RNY. Can't wait to eat normal food, not even hungry but can't wait to actually chew.
B: 4 oz light vanilla greek yogurt
S: 8 oz double milk, skim milk with dry powder milk
L: 4 oz of no sugar added chocolate pudding (made with double milk)
S: 8 oz. double mik
D: 4 oz light lemon yogurt
S: 8 oz of double milk chocolate
Total: Cals: 600 Protein: 100 grams Carbs 100 grams ( per my dietician )
Walked for 30 minutes twice and no nap.
I'm feeling great and down 7 pounds since surgery, and total 47 pounds since I started this process
YEAH!!!!
