I am eating my 2 ounce meals 3 time a day and my protein shakes getting all my water and all my protein in and I feel like I can still eat.  I wait for my next meal.  Has anyone else experienced this?

I remember being hungry in the beginning. When I got to the stage of adding solid foods-meats...then I got full quick. SF Popsicles were my lifesavers, counted as a liquid but I could bite it. Don't know what kind of protein you are doing, but if you make it in the blender with a little ice, it makes it thicker and more filling - to me anyway.

I have been using yogurt and cottage cheese basically.  The thought of pureed chicken makes me nausous.  I was thinking of browning some ground beef.  I wonder if I really need to puree it or if I mashed it up after browning I could eat it  I really haven't figured out what else to eat for the protein  I did get some cheese crisps from the boutique at the hospital and they are really tasty and melt in your mouth and one ounce has 7 grams of protein. You get three but I feel like I could keep eating them.   I am trying to be careful.  I did loos 7 lbs and it will be a week tomorrow so that is good.

be careful ground beef and turkey that early on unless you puree.  I thought I could do it too, but ended up in the ER thinking I had ripped my pouch open.  It was just severely irritated.

Try tuna and puree it a little if you want more solid protien. It's not much different than the tuna you ate pre op, maybe just a little bit finer.

My plan doesn't count calories either... but stay away from cheese crisps or any snack food type things. You have very little real estate in your pouch and should be using it for healthy protein not snack food protein. I never really pureed anything- chopped it or mushed it up very finely, just make sure it is moist not dry add a little gravy or sauce. Tiny bites and chew, chew, chew....

You bought cheese crisps AT the hospital, right after surgery? Seriously?

I know that it's really none of my business and that you're entitled to your opinion, but I feel like this isn't really the kind of place to judge people because it can make them feel embarrassed and shy away from these message boards and for some people, like myself, these boards are some of the best support that they have. I don't know your experience, but addiction to food is extremely hard to cope with and is likely what this person is suffering from, so shaming someone, which is kind of what I feel you were getting at just might be more detrimental to someone than you realize. Please be kind.

You do realize that the OP could have very well busted open her new very small stomach and ended up back in the hospital or worse dead eating those stupid cheese crisps.  Grim wasn't shaming her he asked a question to maybe open her eyes.

Some folks just don't understand the lifestyle change that is ahead of them.  If they can't handle getting out of the hospital before they eat something they shouldn't be, then they are going to have a long hard road ahead of them and unfortunately those are the ones who never reach goal and regain their weight.

Thank  you for your support that person that came at me was inappropriate and I feel should not be on this site.  Get your facts straight.

"The person who came at you" is actually an extremely knowledgeable and successful surgery vet who gives a lot of good advice. Check his post history and consider your own "facts." :)
