That's fantastic news about your vision!!!  *high five*  I know what a real difference it can make, as I had surgery three years ago.  *hugs*

I had a good weekend... just wi**** was 3 days instead of 2!  Didn't get as much cleaning done as I would have liked but then I never do. I did have fun with my new pressure cooker that I got off of QVC, though. I made beef vegetable soup (half pressure cooker, half stove top) and a pork roast that I made into pulled pork on Sunday. The pork roast only took 50 minutes and was so moist.  I am hoping that using the pressure cooker will help me be able to make a few things quickly over the weekend that I can eat on during the week. And, this will allow me to spend more time in the gym!  I also got sucked into watching some of the Signed, Sealed, Delivered Hallmark movies on Sunday... sometimes you just have to watch a Hallmark movie, or two, or three!!!

And, I am hoping some of you will understand this but I actually was able to fit into a pair of cheap leggings from Wal Mart this weekend. They are still plus size but dang, paying $7 for a pair of leggings compared to the $21 - 26 that I was spending for Woman Within and Roamans (plus shipping) will be saving me some $$$. So, woo hoo!!!!

My menu today:

B: Tea with Truvia and a chocolate Premier Protein shake

L: 1 cup of beef vegetable soup. I will probably be eating this amount all afternoon!

S: 1 oz of beef jerky

D: 3 oz of pulled pork with 2 oz of coleslaw

S: 1/2 cup of FairLife reduced fat chocolate milk

Totals: Calories - 868, Protein - 90, Carbs - 51, Fats - 38, Sugar - 18

Exercise: to the gym tonight with a friend, probably the treadmill, recumbent bike, and the weight machines.

Vits/Water: going in!

Everyone have a great day!

Highest weight - 440 lbs, Surgery weight - 395 lbs, Current weight - 291 lbs.

Being able to buy clothes at Walmart...seriously a big deal!!  You must be so stoked!!!

I HATED having to shop at Lane Bryant (only place near me with plus size, besides walmart anyway), their clothes are so expensive and the quality has gone down!

ETA: Which pressure cooker did you get?  I have been interested in getting one!

I got theCooksEssentials 6 qt. Round Digital Stainless Steel Pressure Cooker from QVC. It was their special of the day thing about 3-4 wks ago (I have got to stop watching QVC). It was like only  $67 (on 3 or 4 easy pays). It can pressure cook, slow cook and you can brown meat in it, too. I am really kind of impressed with it.

I was talking to a co-worker about it this morning, and she bought one off of an Info-mercial that is being aired right now. It's an XL something... she loves hers, too.

My Mom had a pressure cooker that she used to use stovetop that she canned in that used to scare the bejezus out of me) but mine is a self contained unit and not scary at all... I am looking forward to canning in it next year!

Happy Monday, from Los Angeles.  My weekend was interesting to say the least.  I'm having an issue with some bad lab results and got a lecture from my surgeon last week.  Apparently, you CAN exercise too much and eat too little.  Who knew???  The upshot is I've been ordered to eat no less than 1200 cal a day for the next 8 weeks to see if my lab numbers straighten themselves out.  The hard part is I have to eat back every calorie I burn during exercise, and he "took away" one running day and one gym day.  Yesterday I ran the Dodgers Foundation 10k and, let me tell you, it's REALLY HARD to eat back 2,200 calories while staying on plan!!!  Sure, I could do it if I refueled with bread, pasta and crap, but eating 2,200 protein forward calories with tight restriction is near impossible.  No exercise for me today (doctor's orders) so I should have an easier go of it.  Here's my plan:

B: Smoked Salmon with cream cheese, Skinny latte

L: BBQ chicken and Quinoa Salad

D: New York Strip, Grilled Onions and Ceasar Salad

S: Light and Fit with Peanut Butter and Somersaults

Totals: Cal. 1,046 (short yet again.  I guess I'll have to throw in another snack); P: 116g; F: 30g; C: 68g (low for where my medical team wants me to be, so I guess that snack will be carb heavy)

Have a great day, everyone!

You could put your smoked salmon and cream cheese on a bagel thin.  Bagels w/cream cheese and lox (and some sliced white onion and capers, thankyouverymuch) is one of life's true great pleasures.  LOL

I LOVE bagels with cream cheese and lox!  Didn't think of a bagel thin, but I may have to try it.  I haven't had any bread since my surgery in May 2014, but to meet their numbers, I may have to give in.  Thanks for the suggestion!

Hi everyone!  We actually got to sleep in this morning because school was out, but my normal 5:30 is for the birds!

I made chili this weekend.  Tried a new recipe from Cooks magazine and it was really good.  I added a jalapeno for a little extra zing and it is really spicy.  I add a little bit of fat free sour cream and take away the sting.  I guess everybody had that cool, chili weather this weekend.  It was perfect for football on Sunday!  Went to see Straight Outta Compton this weekend too!  It was my first date night since I had my stomach issues.  YAY!!!  I thought it was great . . .  the movie took place right as I was getting out of high school and it really took me back.

Time since surgery:  11 mos

B:  L&F Caramel Apple Pie Greek Yogurt - so glad it's back

L:  Chili w/ ff sour cream, protein pudding

D:  Chicken "nachos" not really nachos, chicken and cheese with nacho flavors

S:  No sugar added fro yo

V/W:  started

Exercise:  45 min treadmill, 15 minutes leg workout

I had an okay weekend.  My in-laws came down to see my son perform with his high school band at the football game.  My mom is living with us since my dad passed away in May.  This was the first "event" we've all been together for since my dad passed.  It was very odd not having him there since he absolutely adored his grandkids.  He would always say they were the best thing since sliced bread.  My mom has been having some medical issues (apparently they've been going on for the last couple of years, but she ignored things because she was taking care of my dad).  So, I took her to urgent care on Saturday before the game and everything came back fine.  Thank God!  We all went out to eat at a New York deli (we're in Houston) for dinner and I have to admit that I was envious of the food everyone else was eating, while I stuck with my plan and ate chicken.

But in the end that turned out good for me.  I lost another three pounds and as of this morning I am officially down 50 pounds!

Time since surgery - the 18th will be four months

B - Yogurt with granola

L - Shrimp, celery, laughing cow cheese

D - Meatballs

S - Whey protein drink

S - Watermelon

Totals: Cal - 789; Protein - 63; Carbs 42; Fat 7
