What's On Your Thursday Menu, RNYers?
Hey, everyone!
I miss spring baseball, fall ball, AAU and all the school ball my son played. And, I will say so, myself, that he was quite good. He played 1st and pitched (he is my lefty). He had a stretch on 1st that would make you cry! Anyway, glad you are able to have this experience. I will say tha****ching my son playing baseball and football during his youth, was some of the best times in my life. We watched the last game of the Little League World Series (which is 10 miles from my home town...yay PA!) and the 1st inning was so exciting... then not. But, I love watching kids play ball!!
My favorite workout tunes... ha ha! I am kind of old school... I like Bon Jovi's "It's My Life", Kelly Clarkson's "Stronger" and there is Collective Soul "Where the River Flows"... I always thought that would be a good song to run to... but that may just be me! And, anything from Tina Turner... "Rolling on the River", "River Deep, Mountain High" work for me.
My menu today:
B: Tea with Truvia, chocolate Premier Protein Shake (actually found them at Wal Mart last night!)
L: 3 oz of boneless bbq wings, between 1/4 cup and 1/2 cup coleslaw (counted 1/2 cup)
D: 4 oz of grilled or broiled shrimp w/touch a butter and Old Bay, 2 oz of GG broccoli spears with butter (I am loving this for some reason this week)
S: 1 oz beef Jerky, 1 bottle Natures's Twist SF Orangeade... I loved this stuff pre-surgery and right after... got me off of carbonation... then got sick of it but saw it last night and had to have it! LOL

Water and Vits going in.
Everyone have a cool day... think we have another day of humidity and then gorgeousness!
Good morning all, from a dreary and potentially rainy DC...
I have zero meetings today which is SO weird. It means I can actually do work, and go to the dentist to have them fix the cavity that didn't hurt but has hurt since it was filled. Grrrrr.
Time Since Surgery: 21 months
B: coffee with half and half, 2 oz turkey, 1.5 oz havarti cheese, red peppers from the olive bar
L: Feta and kale salmon cake from Whole Foods. Whole Foods is super pricy, but in their seafood area you can get these awesome salmon and shrimp and crab cakes that end up being like $3 each and are 5 oz of deliciousness!
S: Popcorn
D: Spinach and feta chicken sausage from Whole Foods (were on special)
E: TBD - I am feeling lazy today (perhaps it's the weather) and I have SolidCore tomorrow morning (which is an ass kicker) so perhaps just some walking
Totals: 1,340 calories, 73 carbs, 75 protein
Have a great day, all!

OMG, it's barely a recipe. LOL
2 lbs boneless chcken breast
1/2 bag of baby carrots
1 onion, chopped
1-2 TB chicken bouillon
2 cans of cream of whatever soup
S&P
Throw that in the crock, cover with water and cook on low for 6-7 hours, then shred the chicken and return it to the pot. Take a can of Grands biscuits, flatten them and cut into strips and dunk those in the liquid. Crank it up to high and cook until the biscuits puff up and are cooked through, maybe an hour?
I can't get a whole can in there, so I usually end up with 6 of the biscuits. Yum.
I meant to say this earlier. I live on a pond so we have always through the years had at least one resident heron. They are the coolest birds. My kitchen windows face the pond and I have been known to get mesmerized by watching the heron hunt. They are very, very patient... LOL. Also, when my son was about 8, he found that year's heron nest and brought the baby home because he thought it was abandoned... it looked like a baby ostrich... it was huge. I explained to him that the Mama was probably out hunting (or in the weeds watching him steal her baby) and that we had to put him back. Thank God, she didn't reject baby because it had human smell on him! We had a fun summer watching Mama and baby and her teaching him how to be a heron! Good times!
